Hawk Happenings: Parent Newsletter
February 24th
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) focus has been on Self-Awareness. Reviewing self-awareness helps learners explore ways to understand their emotions, strengths, and areas for growth. Our Character Trait of the Month has been Courage, and we have encouraged learners to demonstrate bravery in their learning and daily interactions.
As we move forward, we are preparing learners for the DIBELS Assessment on April 1st. This assessment helps measure foundational reading skills and track learner progress. Learners who score well below the benchmark will be required to attend summer school to strengthen their skills and ensure they are on track for success.
We encourage you to support your child at home by reading with them daily, practicing letter sounds and sight words, and reinforcing a positive attitude toward learning. If you have any questions or need additional resources, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Thank you for your continued support in your child’s education.
Best Regards,
Mrs. Smith
