Dear Winthrop Parents and Caregivers,

As we approach the end of September, we are thrilled to share that it has been a fantastic start to the school year at Winthrop! Students are diving into their learning with energy, creativity, and a positive spirit and we could not be more proud of the effort they are putting in each day.

Tomorrow, our fifth graders will be highlighting their creativity and language skills in our much-anticipated Idiom Parade! This fun and educational event is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore figurative language in an engaging and memorable way. We look forward to seeing the imaginative costumes and clever idioms they bring to life.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the candidates who participated in our School Council selection process. Your willingness to support our school community and take on a leadership role is appreciated.

Over the past few weeks, Mr. Clark (our assistant principal) and I have had the pleasure of visiting classrooms across grade levels. It has been inspiring to see the important level of engagement, curiosity, and collaboration happening each day. From thoughtful discussions to hands-on projects, students are truly embracing the joy of learning.

Our dedicated teachers are also working closely with students to reinforce our core school values of Respect, Responsibility, and Safety. These guiding principles help create a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels supported and encouraged to do their best.

Lastly, we want to recognize and thank our families for the essential role you play in your children’s success. Your support at home, whether through daily routines, open communication, or helping reinforce expectations, sets the foundation for everything we do at school.

Thank you for being such a vital part of our community. We are looking forward to the exciting months ahead!

Thank You,

Winthrop Administration Team

Dr. Maureen Lueke and Mr. Aaron Clark

Welcome Back to school!! We are very excited about being back at Winthrop and being able to start the school year with everyone! It was great being able to meet some of you in person at Curriculum Night!

We are busy getting into classrooms to learn about topics that will help us become active learners and community members! Kindergarten through second grade are working on topics such as feelings, being good friends and mindfulness.

Grades three through five are learning about the brain and regulation, being supportive friends and classmates, and the power of positive thinking.

We look forward to working with you and your children!
