Principal's Update

Dear Mill Middle School Families,

Things are starting to pick up here at Mill Middle as we begin the month of October, and I wanted to take a moment to share a few reminders regarding upcoming events and important dates.

Tomorrow, Friday, October 2nd, we will conduct our emergency early release drill. As part of the drill, the school day will conclude 15 minutes earlier than usual, at 3:20 PM. All students will exit the building at that time. Parents and guardians who are picking up their child are asked to please plan to arrive at 3:20 PM. Students who ride the bus will follow their normal dismissal routines and procedures, with buses departing at approximately 3:30 PM.

Looking ahead, School Picture Day will take place on Wednesday, October 7th. Students were provided with a Picture Day flyer during Home Base, and additional information has also been sent home electronically to families. You can also find additional Picture Day information in the newsletter below. We will not have school on Monday, October 12th, as we recognize Indigenous Peoples Day and Italian American Heritage Day here in the district.

Picture Day

Picture Day is October 7th for all students. Please don't wear grean! Our green screen let's you choose your background when ordering your photos but it also makes green clothing disappear. About one week after picture day, you'll be able to customize and order your photos online at jostenspix.com/shop, and your order will be shipped directly to your home. Fall Community Forum

Date: Saturday, October 17, 2026

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Location: Williamsville East HS (Commons)

This townhall style meeting will give students, families, staff members and residents a chance to talk about any education-related issue they wish. There is no agenda or set topic.

School Board members and the Superintendent will be on hand to listen, answer questions, and discuss the latest topics impacting Williamsville schools and public education.

WCSD-UB School Spirit Day

The District is once again partnering with UB to host a Williamsville Central School District Spirit Day!

Date - October 3rd - UB vs. Western Michigan (Time TBD)

Students and staff are eligible for 1 complimentary ticket

Parents/guardian must purchase a ticket for students to attend

Students in grades K-8 will have the opportunity to be on the field as part of the tunnel walk when the team takes the field
Additional details will be shared through WITS and the District/school newsletters closer to the event

SAVE THE DATE - October 20th Hands-Only CPR Training

On Tuesday, October 20th from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Williamsville South High School, the Williamsville Central School District will be hosting a Hands-Only CPR/AED event in coordination with the American Heart Association for students, families, staff, and community members.

Date: Monday, October 26, 2026

Time: 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Location: Casey Middle School Cafeteria

Accepted Insurance: IHA, BCBS, Highmark, Blue Card, Univera, NOVA, MVP, Excellus, Medicare Part B, United Healthcare, etc.

Fall Fest

Hey everyone! Get ready for Fall Fest! Tickets will be available during lunch from October 1st to October 9th for just $5.00. Come and join the fun with awesome games, great music, dancing, and amazing prizes! Remember, only Mill students can attend, so mark your calendars for an exciting time from 3:45 PM to 5:30 PM. Don’t miss out! We can’t wait to see you there!

5th Grade C Wing Citizens
