Cypress Springs High School
January 2026
Dear Cypress Springs High School Parents and Guardians,
It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal of Cypress Springs High School. I am honored to join this strong school community and look forward to partnering with you as we continue the important work of supporting student success—academically, socially, and behaviorally.
We begin this semester by reviewing and recalibrating expectations to ensure a safe, orderly, and focused learning environment for all students. Clear and consistent expectations are essential to maximizing instructional time and maintaining a culture of excellence.
Please be aware of the following campus and district expectations that are being enforced consistently:
Student Electronic Devices
In accordance with House Bill 1481, student use of personal electronic devices during the school day is prohibited. District guidelines require that all electronic devices be powered off and stored in students’ backpacks throughout the instructional day. This expectation supports student engagement, minimizes distractions, and promotes academic focus.
Dress Code and Head Coverings
Head coverings—including hoodies worn over the head, hats, scarves, and similar items—continue to be prohibited across Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Students are expected to adhere to the district dress code at all times while on campus.
Your partnership in reinforcing these expectations at home is greatly appreciated. When students, families, and staff work together, we create the conditions necessary for a positive and productive school experience.
I am excited about the future of Cypress Springs High School and confident that this will be a great year for our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to meeting you soon.
With pride and commitment,
Dr. Plas Williams Jr.
Principal
Cypress Springs High School
Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District

Safety Updates
Our campus is near the end of a two year construction project including an addition in our Fine Arts Wing, and many safety and security updates. In addition to the safety hardening in the reception area, we have received additional electronic door monitoring, security cameras (all over the building), lock down buttons, and fire safety alarms. Please help us to remind our scholars of the importance of always following our safety protocols - they are in place to keep everyone safe.
The following safety measures are being monitored and failure to comply may lead to severe discipline consequences:
- Students must wear their IDs at all times while in the building or at school sponsored events.
- Exterior doors must remain closed at all times during the school. Students are not allowed to open these doors, even for adults.
- It is against the law to set off any safety alarm. This includes pulling a fire alarm, lock down alarm or setting off a smoke alarm in the restroom (or anywhere in the building). Our new fire alarm system alerts us when anyone is smoking in the restroom. If our building is evacuated due to a smoke alarm, there may be campus and legal consequences.
We are updating our protocols daily to ensure student safety. We are physically monitoring restrooms and reminding students to follow appropriate procedures.
We want all our students to have a well-rounded learning experience in a safe environment. Thank you for reminding your scholar that safety is all of our responsibility.

Panther Clinic
New Semester, Healthy Start
Happy New Year! As we begin a new semester, please notify the clinic of any changes to your student’s health, medications, or emergency contacts. With flu season underway, remember to keep students home if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other contagious symptoms. Students should be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school. Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy learning environment.
Nurse Appointment Scheduling Available
We are excited to offer parents the option to schedule an appointment with the school nurse for medication drop-offs, immunization questions, or to review doctor’s notes, accommodations, or passes. Appointments give you a dedicated time and smoother experience with less waiting and more personalized attention. Walk-ins are still welcome for urgent needs, but scheduling ahead ensures your visit is quick and efficient.

Communities In Schools Houston
As a Title I campus, Cypress Springs is proud to partner with Communities In Schools (CIS) Houston), a program dedicated to supporting students’ academic and personal success. CIS provides resources such as academic support, mentoring, counseling, and connections to community services to help students overcome challenges that may affect their education.
Our campus CIS representative, Natalie Flores, is here to work directly with students and families to provide guidance and connect them with the resources they need.
If your student could benefit from extra support—whether it’s with schoolwork, basic needs, or personal challenges—CIS is here to help. To ensure your student can take advantage of these resources, a parent or guardian must complete a consent form. Simply scan the QR code in the flyer or click the links below to get started.
