Congratulations Term 1 High Honors & Honors crew members 🎉 Congratulations Term 1 High Honors & Honors crew members 🎉

Well, we're back at it and our students who started this adventure as 5th and 6th graders are now 7th and 8th graders! With the start of the new year, the older students now have more opportunities. Congratulations to Oltina, Kolby, Victor, Jayce and David who are all representing our DMS Soccer teams this fall.

The DMS Cross Country team also has a few of our crew members chasing down the finish line. Congratulations to Zach, Lucas, and John who are all putting in the. miles this fall.

Grade 7, 8 and 9 students participated in the opening of the Anita boat that was made and set sail by a group of students in Massachusetts. Inside the hull were items chosen by students that we were able to view. We will now place items inside related to the community of Lockeport for the Anita’s next voyage. https://www.facebook.com/LRHSGreenwave
We are very thankful to Captain Fudge, who was out fishing for halibut and picked Anita up just 5 miles off the shore. His stepson is pictured here (white t-shirt, black baseball hat) helping to remove all the sealant from the hatch.

Members of the Anita Crew and our Robotics Team met with some of the students from Lockeport HS on a Google Meet Friday afternoon. The students were able to ask some questions and check on any damages to Anita (thankfully there were none!).

Anita helps the Robotics team 'Submerge" into the Lego League Challenge Anita helps the Robotics team 'Submerge" into the Lego League Challenge

During the SUBMERGED℠ Season, FIRST LEGO League teams will use creative thinking and LEGO® technology to explore the layers of the ocean and bring their learnings and ideas to the surface as they “sea” into the future.

Our team heads to WPI on December 7 to share their prototype and compete in the 2024/2025 tournament. Their project topic is tracking fish in the sunlight zone of the ocean.

When Anita was released this summer, a few drifters were sent out with her. These drifters are about the size of Anita's sensor box and are equipped with a camera. The robotics team has made a prototype of a drifter that can be sent down under the surface to photograph fish swimming underneath it. Check out their photos
