August 2026
Back-to-School Edition
Welcome to October
October is full of opportunities for our students to grow, connect, and make positive choices! This month in guidance, we’ll be focusing on three important areas: growth mindset, friendship, and healthy choices.
Throughout the month, students will learn how to handle challenges, what it means to be a good friend, and how making healthy choices can help them take care of their minds and bodies.

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week will be October 26–30! This is a great opportunity for us to talk with students about making healthy choices, taking care of ourselves, and making choices that help us have a bright future.
We’ll have some fun dress-up days throughout the week to help students join in on the fun. Check out the schedule!

A Little SPOT Needs Positive Thinking
by Diane Alber
This story teaches students about the power of positive thinking and how our thoughts can affect the way we feel. As we learn about growth mindset this month, students will practice using positive words with themselves when things feel difficult or don't go as planned.
