A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families,
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! We invite you to our Celebration Assembly about what we LOVE! It begins at 8:30 AM and should brighten your day.
Mrs. Flint is receiving information about food for parties tomorrow. She really does need this information a week ahead of time as she needs the time to ensure the wellness and safety of our students, while being as thoughtful and supportive of the room parents as possible.
Also, many teachers have discouraged sending in candy with Valentine's cards but if food/candy is sent in, students will not be eating it at school.
THANK YOU for your support, as always!!
Warmly,
Michelle Pitts

Kindergarten Registration
Rye Elementary School is presently registering Kindergarten and Grade 1 (new students entering RES only) students for the 2025-2026 school year. Our Kindergarten program is a full day program. It is important that all students register so that we can plan classes for next year. We are already in the planning and budgeting process so please register right away.
You can register at:
https://sau50.powerschool.com/public/formbuilder/form.html?formid=2327135.
Once approved, you will receive instructions on how register for Power School and complete
forms online.
Please register early. Details are online at the RES webpage. http://res.sau50.org/
Students chronological age will be age 5 to enter kindergarten or age 6 to enter Grade 1
on or before September 30 of the year the student plans to enter school. There will be Kindergarten Orientation information announced in the spring, as well as details regarding kindergarten screening.
Quick Notes
Please understand that students or family members cannot enter classroom or learning spaces before/after school or on weekends for any reason.
We ask that all visitors sign in at the office and remain in the lobby when picking up students. The RES staff will take care of delivering students to family members and collecting belongings. Unexpected visitors in classrooms and hallways can be distracting for our learners and teachers. Thank you!

Lunch in Our Caf
We invite one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren) but this is very optional and we don't want families to feel pressured to attend. This is an occasional event as we do want children to build independence and social skills in the cafeteria, a perfect time for this!
- Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time. It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
- Adults must bring their own lunch and can bring lunch for their own child.
- We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
- Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
- Days for family visits are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We do not have lunch visitors on Fridays.
- Lunch times are:
Kindergarten-11:45-12:10
First Grade-12:10-12:35
Second Grade-12:10-12:35
Third Grade- 11:15-11:40
