What's the Buzz?

Greetings, Families!

As we approach the end of the school year, we have some exciting news to share. A group of parents and caregivers has come together to form a school support organization called “The BEE Team.” This group will function similarly to a PTA or PTO and will be sharing more information and opportunities to get involved in the near future.

One of their first initiatives will be helping us celebrate our incredible educators during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4–8). We are so grateful for the dedication and care our staff shows your children every day, and we look forward to partnering with you to show that appreciation. Please watch for ways you can help!

South Dakota Assessments begin this week. You can support your child by ensuring they get plenty of sleep each night and start their day with a healthy breakfast—either at home or at school—so they are ready to do their best. We view this as a great opportunity for students to showcase and celebrate all the learning that has taken place this year.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything you need as we head into the final weeks of the 2025–26 school year.

Join Us for a Night of Celebration, Connection, and Fun!
April 30 | 5:00–7:00 PM | Playground

We’re inviting our entire community to come together for a special evening as we celebrate the birthday of Laura B. Anderson—the person behind our school’s proud name and legacy!

Bring the whole family and enjoy a fun-filled night featuring hot dogs, sandwiches, and plenty of time to connect with friends old and new. Take a walk down memory lane as we open the school for tours and showcase historical photos highlighting the rich tradition and stories of Riverside/LBA.

This event is truly for everyone—past, present, and future Bees! Whether you’re a current family, alumni, former staff member, or longtime community supporter, we would love to see you there. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors as we gather generations of Laura B. Anderson Bees and Riverside Rats to celebrate what makes this community so special.

Come ready to reconnect, reminisce, and make a few new memories—we can’t wait to see you there! 🐝

This event is a fundraiser to help support our classrooms (headphones, teacher/student supplies, etc.). All proceeds will go to LBA School.
