What's Happening In School?
Our staff always plans a blend of hands on activities, kinesthetic lessons, as well as more traditional school work. These pictures about what is going on in a few of the classrooms this week can also be a conversation starter with your students if they answer your "What did you do at school today?" question with - "Nothing." This week's pictures include students in 6th grade Health/ T.A.G. class with Ms. Tivnan and Mr. Daley playing some fun memory games; 7th graders in Ms. Stager's Science class learning about endothermic and exothermic reations; finally, 8th graders in Ms. Z's Art class creating sketches about their own personality traits.

Who received the Appreciation Tapestry this week?
Mr. Fremont-Smith received the Appreciation Tapestry earlier this week. He was nominated by Ms. Scarano who wrote, "I would like to nominate Mr. Fremont-Smith who has had the fortitude of hearing to teach half of the entire population of the Ipswich Public Schools how to make the world a better place by adding music to it. His ever present cheerfulness, humming and whistling betrays his presence before you ever see him. His enthusiasm and optimism that every child can, should and will play an instrument is an inspiration to us all. Although he should be sponsored by Tylenol, he figures out a way to tell every child how much they are improving and sets their vision for how amazing they can be. You are finishing strong JFS!" Congratulations!
The latest recipient of the Appreciation Tapestry is Ms. Scarbrough. She was nominated by Ms. Stone who wrote, " I’d like to nominate Ms. Scarbrough for the exceptional learning environment she creates in her science classroom. Her lessons are consistently engaging and thoughtfully designed, filled with activities that encourage curiosity and active participation. She is incredibly organized and knowledgeable, and it is truly inspiring to watch the way she brings complex topics to life. What stands out most is her ability to help students see how scientific concepts connect to the bigger picture and to the world around them. She makes the curriculum meaningful by linking standards to real-life experiences, which helps students understand why what they are learning matters. Through her passion, creativity, and dedication, she sparks a genuine interest in science and leaves a lasting impact on her students. I have learned so much from her, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn in her class." Very well deserved!
