Dear Falcon Families,

Our Student Council Officers led their first Friday Flag assembly for the year this past Friday and they did an awesome job! Well done, Falcons!! This Friday, 9/19/25, is our first Student Council spirit day for the year; Class Color Day! Please see your teacher's updates/newsletter for your Falcons class color.

Please use this link for see all the resources our district provides for internet safety digital resources. I would love to hold a Parent Information evening on internet safety and resources available to our families. Please take a moment to complete the poll below to let me know if this is something you would be interested in attending. Thank you!

If you have not yet set up your Parent-Teacher conference for the week of September 22nd with your child's teacher, please do that this week. This is a great time to hear about how your child is doing in the classroom, get to know their teacher a bit more and learn how we can partner together to make this a great year for your Falcon. As a reminder, Parent Conference week is ALL MINIMUM days, with all students being released at 1:15 pm and Wednesday, 9/24, is a NON-STUDENT day. Additionally, PTA will be hosting our fall Book Fair. Please use the QR code below to sign up to volunteer at the Book Fair. Your help is needed to make it a great time for our kids!

Don't forget to mark Friday, September 26th on your calendar for our first of two Lunch with a Loved One events! See the flyers below with information on local eateries that are partnering with us for a fundraiser on that day. Lunch will be from 12:15 -1:00 pm for all students. Students will then return to their classrooms at 1:00 pm to be dismissed at 1:15 pm by their teacher. Students in grades TK-3 will be met by their parent at their classroom. Students in grades 4-6 will be released to the blacktop to find their parent. Please let your child know what general area you plan to sit in. As a reminder, NON-SCHOOL AGE siblings are not permitted to play on the playground and students should still play on their designated playground; primary and upper grade. Finally, a reminder that parents of students in grades 1-6 will enter the LWALO event through the Fern Drive MPR gate. You will not enter through the front main gate or the office. TK & K parents will enter campus through the Fern Drive Library gate and will be permitted a little before 12:15 to pick up their student as our littlest Falcons need a bit more time and have the farthest walk. Many of the lunch tables will be reserved for students who need to sit there. School lunch will still be available to all students on this day.

Attendance is key in student achievement and success at school.

Thank you for ensuring your Falcon attends school on time every day that they are healthy.

If your child will be absent, please use this google form to clear their absence. You may also call the school attendance line to clear an absence. Independent Study MUST be requested on THE DAY of the absence. For vacations, parents must request Independent Study TWO weeks before the absence.

Each week we hold a raffle for class attendance. Each day, if the class has 100% attendance, the teacher sends a raffle coupon up to the office. On Friday's we draw a primary and upper grade class winner. The winning class receives 3 class Gotcha's, a 10 minute extra recess and has the Falcon mascot in their room for the week.

Lunch and breakfast will continue to be free for all students daily. We will still do a lunch count daily so please discuss with your student the importance to take a correct lunch count. Some students bring a lunch to school and then at lunchtime go get a school lunch. This results in some lunch shortages of the choice meal that day. Lunch options are still available and all children will be fed but often when this happens, the "lunch of the day" runs out. Please review with students the importance of this an accurate lunch count.

• You can drop off meds anytime starting now between 9 AM - 2 PM through the first day of school.
• You will need the IHP form - linked here

A reminder, if your child will need crutches or a cast and/or splint to begin the year, or any time during the year, please fill out this form and bring your child by the office to check in. We will need to ensure their safety prior to entering campus.

As always, please call the office with any health-related information, questions and/or concerns regarding your child.
