From the Desk of Your Principal
Dear Highlander Families,
Well, this is it. The final newsletter of the 2025-26 school year. We leave with lots of return-to-school information. I wish everyone a restful, memorable, and joyful summer. Use it as a time to catch up on a great book, a great movie or play, or breaking bread with family and friends.
I did want to leave with an important change for the coming year as it relates to personal electronic devices. The Board had the first reading of BP 5131.8 on June 3. As such, we are planning to move to a cell-phone free campus from bell-to-bell. This will be a great opportunity to consider individual family needs. As a school, we also aim to do better at receiving communications from families so that important messages can be received. More information will be forthcoming on this.
Have a wonderful summer and the next newsletter is tentatively slated to come out on July 24.
Warmly,
Dr. Yoshihara

Walk Through Registration Signups
Walk through registration volunteers are needed. Yes, you read that right, we are already deep into planning for walk through registration. This is an optional, albeit, important day for us to welcome students back to school. If you are available on August 7, we would love for families to sign up via the link below.
Until Next Year, PHS!
This is my last note in the Friday newsletter until fall — and what a year it's been. Thank you to every parent and caregiver who showed up, volunteered, donated time, or simply cheered our kids on from the sidelines. It all matters more than you know.
Before you fully unplug for the summer: our first Parents' Club meeting of the new school year is August 28th, and Walk-Through Registration volunteers are still needed — it's one of the easiest and most impactful ways to welcome families back. Find meeting details, helpful information, and everything else you need at the PHS Parents' Club website.
See you in the fall. Enjoy your summer, PHS.
Warmly,
Andrea Zambrana
PHS Parents' Club, Vice-President

PHS Graduation Video
Congratulations to the class of 2026. It as a fantastic day, and we thank all our families and special guests for coming out to celebrate with our seniors. I apologize in advance about the restricted video of graduation. It missed about the first 30 minutes of the ceremony. We will work to build redundancies in our system to ensure this does not happen again.
Class of 2026 - PUSD Gmail Expiration and Google TakeOut For Files
This may be your last task before you say your final good-bye to your high school.
Your PUSD email will become inaccessible on July 3, 2026, so:
- Make sure to change any accounts that use your PUSD email address for login purposes if you want to maintain access to them. Most notably, possibly, your College Board account.
- If you have any projects, essays or assignments you wish to keep, you have some options on how to transfer them from your PUSD account to either a personal Gmail account or as MS Office files locally to your computer.
Read the instructions carefully, as there are various options.

Cap & Gown Day a Huge Success!
Cap & Gown Day took place this past Wednesday at all our elementary schools. Thank you to all the parent chaperones, teachers, support staff and administrators at our elementary schools for being amazing hosts. There was a lot of joy and plenty of tears to go around. I've shared my collage with the principals for future use.

Counseling Corner:
End-of-year Update
Hello families,
As the year comes to a close and students are working hard to get their final assignments submitted, the counseling office is organizing credit recovery for students who received a D or an F. Please check Schoology with your student to confirm whether or not they will need credit recovery over the summer. If you believe your student will require credit recovery, please reach out to their counselor for next steps.
From,
The Counseling Office
