SILVER FOX NEWS
November 21st, 2024
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Dr. JoLynn Prochaska on being named the 2024-2025 Ten Oaks Middle School Teacher of the Year. "Dr. P" teaches 6th grade science. She goes the extra mile to make sure that her students have all that they need to succeed. During her time at Ten Oaks she has served as the 6th Grade Lead Teacher and the Science Department Chair. She has also been the Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Carolina Forest High School. She is a very involved staff member, and she is always willing to share her time, skills, and talents with her colleagues, students, parents, and our school community. Dr. Prochaska leads with a servant heart and is always looking for solutions. If she sees a need she doesn't hesitate to take action. She is proactive while remaining positive. At the beginning of this school year "Dr. P" was instrumental in making sure many of our staff members became CPR/First Aid certified and that all our classrooms are supplied with fully stocked safety and emergency kits. We couldn't think of a better teacher, educator, and person to represent our amazing school this year.
A Silver Fox Farewell and happy retirement to one of our beloved teachers, Ms. Tacy Bennett! Last week we were able to celebrate her at a staff gathering and yesterday was Ms. Bennett's last day at Ten Oaks. We wish her nothing but Peace, Love, and Joy during her retirement. We hope this next chapter is as wonderful to her as she was to the students and staff at Ten Oaks these past eight years. Thank you again for serving the Silver Fox Community!
Congratulations to our Caught Being Good Winners for the First Quarter at TOMS! Congratulations to 6th grader Farah, 7th grader Ailani and 8th grader Sophie (not pictured)!
Ten Oaks Angel Tree is FULL! Thank you to those who already became an Angel, but our tree is again full! We have many families in need this year - will you consider helping us this holiday?
This is our 8th year of giving by the Ten Oaks School and community. So please take part and consider giving a child a special gift this holiday season.
Angel Tree is located in the front office at TOMS- "Angel ornaments" will list the age, gender, and gift wish.
Please do as your budget allows, but $25 and under is appropriate for all gifts requested. We ask that after you have purchased your gift for this special child, you return the wrapped gift with the Angel Tag to the front office of TOMS no later than Friday, December 13th.
Monetary gifts are also accepted to help with unfulfilled tags. Thank You for helping make this Christmas a little brighter for one child.
Contact Mrs. Cassandra Beale at cbeale@horrycountyschools.net for questions on how to donate/give a gift.
Thank you to Student Council Members Ava, Campbell, Avery and Rebecca for helping get our tree ready!

Random Acts of Kindness do not go unnoticed at TOMS!
This week our 7th grade student Lexi met up with Cafeteria Manager Margie Crane. She presented her with a sweet treat and told her that she wanted to express her gratitude and thank her for everything she does! She told Ms. Crane that she probably doesn't hear it enough, and that she is appreciated!
Thank you Lexi for showing your genuine gratitude for Ms. Crane!
