VVLA Dress Code Reminder
Student ID Cards
Student identification badges play an important role in maintaining a safe and orderly campus at Valley View. All students are expected to wear their student ID at all times while on campus. IDs help staff quickly identify students, support campus security, and ensure a smooth start to the school day.
Please remind students to bring and wear their ID daily. If an ID is lost or damaged, it should be reported to the front office as soon as possible so a replacement can be issued. A replacement is $5. We will begin asking ALL students if they have their student ID's before they enter campus, it is a part of students EVERYDAY uniform. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping Valley View a safe and secure learning environment for all.
Academic Focus for January
January marks an important time for setting goals and building momentum for the remainder of the school year. Our focus this month includes:
Strengthening reading comprehension and writing skills
Continuing math problem-solving and conceptual understanding
Providing targeted supports through MTSS to ensure all students grow and succeed
Regular attendance and on-time arrival are essential to student achievement, especially as we begin new units of instruction.
VVLA Spelling Bee Champions
Ailany Robles Sicairos and Ariza Soberano proudly represented Valley View at the District Office Spelling Bee. While they did not take home the top prize, they demonstrated outstanding preparation, confidence, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and are confident they will return even stronger next year.

Leader in Me Habit of the Month
Synergize means working together to achieve more than we ever could on our own. At Valley View, this habit teaches students the value of teamwork, respect, and collaboration by encouraging them to listen to others, appreciate different perspectives, and combine strengths to solve problems. When students practice synergizing, they learn that diverse ideas lead to better solutions and that everyone has something valuable to contribute.
This habit is just as important for teachers and families. When educators collaborate and families partner with the school, we create a strong support system that benefits every student. By actively practicing Synergize, our school community builds trust, strengthens relationships, and models cooperation for our students. Together, we foster an environment where everyone works toward shared goals and success—living The Eagle Way every day. 🦅
Thrillshare
Strong family-school partnerships are key to student success. We encourage families to:
Stay connected through school communications and newsletters
Attend upcoming school events and meetings
Reach out to teachers or administration with questions or concerns
More information about family engagement opportunities will be shared throughout the month.
Eagle Cheer Team
Our Valley View cheer team proudly represented our school in a highly competitive district cheer competition held at South Mountain High School on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Competing against strong programs from across the district, our young ladies delivered an outstanding routine, showcasing their skill, teamwork, and school pride. Their hard work and dedication paid off as they walked away with the Best Performance trophy. We extend a sincere thank you to Ms. Arvizo for her leadership, commitment, and guidance in leading this team to success. We are incredibly proud of our cheerleaders and the way they represented Valley View! 🦅
Featured Student Athletes
Most Outstanding Player Awards GO TO......
Jaredd Rosenborough and Josette Ayala were both honored with the Most Outstanding Player awards for volleyball. These exceptional student-athletes led their teams to championship titles this fall and were recognized at a Roosevelt School District banquet prior to winter break.
We are extremely proud of their accomplishments. Jaredd and Josette are not only outstanding athletes, but also exemplary students who live The Eagle Way every day. 🦅
Dear Valley View Families,
We are reaching out to address a growing concern that is significantly impacting students’ instructional time. Recently, many students have been checked out early, often just before their intervention classes. These sessions are critical in helping students build the skills needed to close academic gaps and ensure they are meeting grade-level expectations.
With only 40 instructional days remaining before AASA testing begins, it is essential that students are present for the full school day. Therefore, we will be implementing a strict checkout cutoff time of 1:30 PM. After 1:30 PM, early checkouts will not be permitted except in the case of a true family emergency.
Early checkouts not only hinder student progress, but they also disrupt classroom instruction and impact the entire learning community. Our goal is to give every student the best possible opportunity to succeed, and consistent attendance is a key part of that effort.
We kindly ask for your partnership in avoiding unnecessary early checkouts and ensuring your child remains on campus for the full instructional day.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Sincerely,
Mr. Mitchell
Principal
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we will make 2026 a year of growth, success, and excellence for all Valley View Eagles.
We are excited to welcome everyone back and look forward to a wonderful January!
