End of Term Prayer

We thank you Lord, for this term. For our challenges, our successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt. Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.

Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith. Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others. To be peacemakers in our family.

Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun. Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term. We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us.

May we always be conscious of you in our lives.

Amen

Dear Families,

It is hard to believe that we are at the end of Term 1 already. It has been a wonderful term, and whilst there has been a steady pace of events that has kept us all on our toes, these events have shone a light on the many gifts and talents of our students. I hope that this Easter break serves as a time for rest and renewal, for students and their families, as I look forward to many more wonderful events as we enter Term 2.

Sacrament of Confirmation

On Saturday evening, our Year 6 students celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Dominic’s Church. The Sacrament of Confirmation marks a pivotal transition in our student’s faith journey. It is a time when they move from being children learning about their faith to becoming young adults who are choosing to take ownership of it. Through the sacrament, they receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a fuller way, just as the Apostles did at Pentecost. We hope that through this sacrament they are strengthened to live out their faith more boldly and to continue to be active members of the Church.

Interschool Swimming Carnival

Well done to our Interschool Swimming Team, under the leadership of Mrs Haylee Benedetti. The team competed tremendously at Perth High Performance Centre (formerly HBF Stadium) on Monday, securing some fantastic results. I was very impressed with the wonderful sportsmanship displayed throughout the day.

The carnival ended with OLGC taking out 3rd place. A fantastic result!!

EduDance

Thank you to all our families for their patience with the temperamental weather during our EduDance concert. We are glad that the heavy rains held out, to allow our students to showcase their hard work and dedication, to the term long dance program. The EduDance concert is certainly a highlight on the OLGC calendar, and this year was no exception.

Meeting of the Minds

On Tuesday, OLGC hosted the annual ‘Meeting of the Minds’ gathering, where Year 6 Gifted and Talented program students from Our Lady of Grace, Our Lady’s Assumption, St Luke’s, Holy Spirit, St Paul’s, St Peter’s and OLGC primary schools gather to undertake a range of collaborative tasks. This year, the students also enjoyed a presentation from GATE students at Sacred Heart College, including some hints and tips to prepare for the ‘Tournament of Minds’ Spontaneous Challenges that they will undertake later in the year.

Thank you to our THINQERs Teacher, Mrs Maddie Ciullo for her organisation and coordination of this event.

EASTER EASTER

Good Friday and Easter Sunday are central to the Christian faith, each holding deep significance.

Good Friday marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a day of reflection on His immense sacrifice for humanity. It is a reminder of His love, forgiveness, and the hope found in His death. While solemn, it encourages us to embrace love and humility in our own lives.

Easter Sunday celebrates Jesus' resurrection, symbolizing victory over death and the promise of eternal life. It is a day of joy, highlighting the renewal and transformation faith offers. Easter calls us to rise from challenges, embracing new beginnings with hope and light.

Together, these days remind us of love, sacrifice, and the power of hope, inviting us to reflect on our lives and carry forward the Easter message in our actions. Wishing everyone a blessed Good Friday and joyful Easter Sunday!

Whether you spend this weekend in church, in prayer, or with loved ones, may the message of Easter fill your heart with peace, joy, and renewal.

Wishing you a blessed Good Friday and a joyful Easter Sunday!

Kids just grow so fast! Do you have outgrown uniforms that could benefit another family? Maybe you're hunting for a spare polo shirt or some extra buttons?

Here at OLGC we have a second-hand uniform sale or swap page on Facebook. This is a closed group for the OLGC families who wish to sell, swap, or provide free uniforms to our school community.

To join simply click here or search on Facebook for "OLGC Uniforms – Sale or Swap".

It is important that all sales and swaps are done without consuming the precious resources of the school. Please contact each other directly and don't ask the office to hold items awaiting pick up.
