In ASSP, you can get help in math, language arts and miscellaneous (science and social studies) with a teacher from 3:05-4:00 PM. Come to ASSP if you need to:

• prepare for a test

• get questions answered from your homework

• review a concept that you missed or confuses you

• finish that writing assignment

Ramadan begins March 11th, 2024. If your student will be fasting, please either email em-nurse@d64.org or send a note indicating the following:

1. If the student will be expected to participate in PE and rest as needed, observe PE class, or go to the LRC during class time.

AND

2. If the student will report to the LRC or the cafeteria during their designated lunch time.

Mark your calendars! Here are important dates regarding registration for the 2024-2025 school year.

• January 16th, 2024 - Registration begins for ALL District 64 students. (This includes *Preschool and Kindergarten)
• March 22nd, 2024 - Registration closes

*Parents that are registering their child for preschool for the 2024-2025 school year, will not be invoiced for tuition and fees at this time. For a listing of approved fees for the 24-25 school year, CLICK HERE.

Registration information for Worlds of Wonder 2024:

• Registration will open at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024.
• WOW registration will close on Monday, June 3rd, 2024.

More information about enrollment fees, schedules for the sessions, and course descriptions will be shared soon. Plus, any time information is shared, it will also be posted to the Worlds of Wonder page.

Please remember that all 6th graders need to submit a dental exam form by May 15, 2024. The exam must be dated after November 15, 2022 and uploaded to PowerSchool. Thank you!

Emerson students were busy the month of February in extended homeroom. We celebrated Black History Month by doing a card sort of famous people and learning about their important contributions to society. In addition, students completed two surveys – SAEBRS and the 5Essentials Student Survey. SAEBRS is a Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener. It helps identify students who are at risk for general, social, academic, and emotional behaviors and helps us determine what type of supports are most appropriate. The 5E Survey asks students how they feel about school in general, and their feedback will help us make improvements at Emerson over time. Lastly, the 8th grade Soaring Eagles gave a presentation to the 7th graders about the Soaring Eagle Program and explained the application process. We encourage any interested 7th graders to submit this application by Wednesday, March 13th.
