GSA Middle School

On Saturday, February 22nd, GSA VEX IQ robotics teams from across the district traveled to Reeds Spring, Missouri, for the Rapid Relay Missouri VEX IQ State Championship. The middle school was represented by Smiley Bananas, Mechanics, Robo Renegades, The Nerd Cluster, Granny Grippers, Circuit Breakers, Kermit Crafters, and Melmetal. Our teams spent the day utilizing their skills they have continued to improve upon throughout the season to alliance with teams from around the state. They exhibited perseverance and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to all of the teams on a great showing at the Missouri VEX IQ State Championship!! Our teams had an amazing experience that they can apply to seasons to come. Their months of planning, preparation, and design were apparent in their performance. Melmetal celebrated their season by earning the Teamwork Champion Award as a member of the top alliance during the event. Kermit Crafters brought home the Robot Skills Champion Award and the Think Award. RoBo Renegades earned the 2nd Place Teamwork Champion award. Fantastic work!!

Good morning, 6th grade families,

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, we would like to inform you that a designated room will be available during lunch for 6th grade students who are fasting. They may choose to go to Mrs. Cissell's room (Room 140) if they prefer a quiet space during lunch. This option is entirely voluntary.

Please note that students who are not fasting should continue to report to the cafeteria for lunch as usual.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best regards,

Middle School Student Council is excited to announce the launch of its latest service project, the February Canned Food Drive! Here's what you need to know:

• Each grade level at GSA Middle is competing to see who can donate the most ounces of canned goods.
• Cans must be in good condition and not expired to be counted.
• Social Studies teachers’ classrooms will serve as the drop-off locations for each grade.
• The grade that donates the most canned goods by the end of February wins a donut party provided by admin during an advisory period in March!
• All canned goods will be donated to a local food pantry in March.

Students pay $3, cash or check, on the day of the dress down day. Again, we do not take app payments.
