Student Fees
Now is a good time to log into your Parent Portal to not only stay informed about your students' academics and attendance, but also to check and pay for their fees. Fees will remain on their account throughout their high school enrollment. This is especially important if your student is a senior. Seniors cannot pick up their cap and gowns in the spring if they owe any student fees on their accounts.

Important Attendance Reminders
- All attendance requests must be submitted by 10:00 am on the day of the request. Please submit attendance requests ahead of time in order to ensure a smooth dismissal. If possible, try to schedule appointments and vacations outside of school hours.
- If a student becomes sick or injured and needs to leave early during the school day, they must check-out through the Health Office. We can mark a late arrival or all-day absence due to illness, but if a student is already at school and needs to leave, they must be released by the school Nurse.
- As a safety precaution, we cannot accept calls or voicemails from phone numbers that do not match the phone numbers we have on file for students' parents/guardians. You must call from the number we have on file. If you get a new phone, please update your contact information as soon as possible (you may do so either in the ParentPortal of InfiniteCampus or by contacting the counselling office).
- Absence requests that do not have a valid reason for absence are not accepted. This means:
- We cannot accept an absence request in which NO reason for absence is specified. We must know why the student is missing their scheduled class.
- We cannot excuse an absence for which the reason for absence is not excusable as determined by our attendance procedures. Common requests we do NOT excuse are due to: traffic/transportation, oversleeping, missing the bus, doing school work from home, or working at a business (including interviews), unless it is part of a school-related program like Community Involvement or ProPEL.
NEEDED: Kleenex Tissues and Disinfecting Wipes
Cold and flu season is here, and we could use your Kleenex tissue and disinfecting wipes donations. Please send your donation to school with your student, and they can drop it off at the Main Office. Or, you may drop donations off at our welcome desk at Door A (main entrance). Some families have drop-shipped donations directly from Amazon, Target, etc. If this interests you, here is our shipping address:

Warm Gear Also Needed
Families, with the winter season here, we want to be sure all students are equipped and warm. We are accepting new or gently used hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and boots for students in need. Your generosity is greatly noticed and appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at the Greeter's Desk (main entrance) or in the Main Office.

Take on an authentic learning experience and make yourself stand out from the crowd. Capstone projects are a great chance to build new skills needed for every post secondary option. Earn credit by exploring a personal passion, engaging with an outside interest, or trying something new.
Information sessions and applications will be available beginning in December. Sign up for Eric Turner’s Wednesday Royals Connect session.
Bilingual Seals 2026
Is your student proficient in a language other than English? If so, they may be eligible to earn college credits and receive a World Language Proficiency Certificate or a Bilingual / Multilingual Seal notation on their Hopkins High School transcript when they graduate. Whether they have learned another language in school or elsewhere, the Minnesota Department of Education has established a system for recognizing high school students for their language proficiency.
For more information, please check out this presentation that includes important information, steps and great resources. Also consider encouraging your student to explore the next steps.
Please note that the Registration deadline for any non-AP language proficiency assessment is Friday, February 27, 2026 (please use this form to sign up), and the test day is Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
