Something to Think About
“Always stop to think whether your fun may be the cause of another’s unhappiness.”
Have you ever been having fun with your friends and not realized that someone else wasn’t having fun at all? Maybe a joke that seemed funny to you hurt someone’s feelings, or a game or conversation left someone feeling left out. Have you ever made fun of someone in order to gain attention? How did it make you feel?
Having fun is important, but so is being aware of others. Before we laugh, joke, tease, or include someone in our fun, take a second to ask yourself: “Is everyone having a good time, or could someone be getting hurt or left out?”
This week, let’s have fun, make good memories, and enjoy being around our friends—but let’s make sure our fun doesn’t come at someone else’s expense.
Pep Rally Winners
Congratulations to our 6th Graders for winning the Pep Rally Class Yell during the Pep Rally on Friday! 6th Graders have earned an Out of Uniform Dress Day on Monday, September 14th. Out of Uniform Dress Guidelines must be followed. Guidelines can be found below.
Fall Picture Day
Fall Pictures will take place on Tuesday, September 15th. Students will be allowed to wear a school appropriate shirt of their choosing with UNIFORM BOTTOMS. Students who wish to prepay for pictures need to bring their order form with payment ON PICTURE DAY. Students will need to hand this packet to the photographer when they are called to the gym for pictures. If they do not have the packet, parents may still order pictures online with the code on the picture packet after picture day.
Packets were sent home with students last week.
Home Lunches/ Snacks
We have seen an increase in students leaving their trash from home lunches/ snacks on the ground and picnic tables during lunch and recess. Please help us keep our campus clean by speaking to your child about placing their trash in the proper place.
Fundraiser Deadline- Thursday
Students, the deadline to turn in orders and payments for the brochure/cookie dough fundraiser is this Thursday, September 17th. As you turn in orders and payments, please make sure your first and last name is on your order form.
Remember, if you sell $75 or more, you will earn one week of Free Dress and the top 20 sellers will earn a lunch from McDonald’s.
Full Time Virtual Registration
Full Time Virtual Registration will be open from September 21st - September 25th for families interested in Virtual Education for their child. Parents can contact Sharron Pillette with the Office of Distance Learning at 337-898-5808 or via email at sharron.pillette@vpsb.net for more information.
Girls Basketball Tryouts
Physicals and paperwork due Wednesday, September 16th to Coach D. Tryouts are Thursday, the 17th after school until 4pm.
Jr. BETA Registration due Friday, September 18th
All Jr. Beta forms and payments are due Friday, September 18th. Students must add the Official Jr. Beta Google Classroom, complete the digital forms, and pay membership dues by this date.

Morning Drop Off
All students MUST be dropped off in the car rider line in the morning. Students should not be dropped off in the teacher parking lot, or the side streets near the front of the school.
