News from the Guidance Office

Good luck to our seniors taking the October SAT! Seniors are encouraged to schedule their Future Plans meeting with their counselor, especially if applying Early Action. The scheduling link can be found in your email.

This month, counselors will meet with Grade 9 students to review graduation requirements and discuss how to make the most of high school to keep as many post-graduation options open as possible.

Good luck to our juniors taking the PSAT on October 21st—you’ve got this!

School counselors visited 8th-grade students to discuss career awareness and opportunities beyond middle school. They will continue working with students in grades 6–8 to promote early exploration and understanding of future career paths.

Eighth-grade students will soon be receiving a permission slip to attend a field trip to visit and learn about Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School on October 29, 2025. Permission forms need to be returned to the middle school guidance office by Friday, October 17th, indicating whether or not your student will be attending the trip. Additional copies will be available for students in the middle school guidance office.

Hispanic Cultural Week at CMHS Hispanic Cultural Week at CMHS

September 22 - 26, 2025

The Allied Arts and World Languages Department at CMHS organizes Hispanic Cultural Week every year during the Hispanic Heritage Month. The whole school community is involved: There is decoration of the hallways, morning announcements by Ms. Cabral and a special menu offered by the cafeteria during student lunch. The library displays a selection of books written by Hispanic authors or about Hispanic culture and teachers in the Allied Arts Department offer special activities during WIN Block. SFNHS students take fun pictures of students during lunch and WIN block, and the Sophomore class runs fundraising events, including eating at Fiesta Charra and the sale of bracelets and tattoos. It’s a week of fun cultural activities celebrated by all!

Staff is listed alphabetically – for easy navigation you can use CTRL “F” to search for a specific name.

Becoming a member is recommended as it will give you access to see and change your appointments. Your information will also be saved for future school events.

CHANGES CAN BE MADE TO YOUR SCHEDULE AT ANY TIME BY LOGGING INTO YOUR ACCOUNT AT WWW.SIGNUPGENIUS.COM

For your reference, a complete list of teacher room numbers and their voicemails are on the website.

We strongly encourage parents/guardians to make appointments with one or all of the individual student’s teachers, the student’s guidance counselor, and/or the assistant principal or principal. This is a good opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school. You may simply want to connect with your student’s teacher to gain insight into the school day. You may want to address a concern or want to celebrate an achievement in a particular subject area. Please take advantage of this time to have some quiet conversation with our faculty and staff.

As always, please don’t hesitate to call if you have any questions or are having any trouble scheduling online.
