We will dive into the areas that are vital to upholding positive, healthy relationships with others.

This includes:

• understanding others' perspectives on ideas
• resolving conflict in a healthy, respectful manner
• respecting difference of opinions from your peers.

The vision of the School Counseling program at Hector P. Garcia Elementary is to empower all of our students to work toward holding themselves accountable and responsible for their social-emotional growth to become well-rounded citizens. Through our comprehensive counseling program, we will address academic, social-emotional and career goals which will empower their college, career, military and emotional readiness.

A comprehensive school counseling program is an intentional design to address and identify needs within the school campus, district, and communities.

Garcia Elementary is to collaborate with stakeholders to promote all aspects of social-emotional learning such as social awareness, self-management, growth mindset, and self-efficacy to ensure college, career, and military readiness throughout their educational career.
