All in. Every day.
We look forward to continued partnership with you to be "All in. Every day". To support our learners, we appreciate working together.
Drop off & Pick up Loop
When dropping off in the parent loop, please be patient and careful. There have been reports about impatient and aggressive drivers. As a reminder: Pull up to the end of the loop (past door 2-the gym door). Caregivers should drop off on the south loop and remaining in your car at all times. The north loop is for school buses and daycare vans. If you need to get out of your car for any reason, please park in the lot. Please model civility toward others as we all adjust to our new routines.

Healthy Smart Snack Items
Making good choices for snacks can be very helpful in your child's education. Every day students will have snack time and are welcome to bring a healthy snack from home. Snacks are encouraged to be purchased with a label attached to show the ingredents in the item. To ensure safety of students, families are NOT allowed to bring birthday or celebration food snacks to school for the class in accordance with the distrct's Wellness Policy (AP 3250). Please look at the policy prior to sending snacks or contact the Kennedy office with quesitons. On a FEW occassions, there will be days at Kennedy Elementary where sweet treats will be allowed. These dates will be shared with the parents by the classroom teacher. Please reserve the cake, ice cream, and sweets for celebrations outside of school.
Busing Information
Students will scan each time they enter the bus. When students arrive at the school, they will not scan off the bus, but the bus driver will complete a walk-through of the bus to make sure all students are off the bus (this saves valuable time each morning). At the end of the school day, returning home, your student needs to scan on and off the bus. When students scan, we can, in real-time, know that they are either on the bus or have exited the bus. This provides another level of safety for our students. Please encourage your child to participate in the scanning process onto the bus in the morning and scanning both on and off the bus after school.
Parents/guardians can download the “Here Comes the Bus” app, which notifies parents when their children are picked up and dropped off. Students must scan on and off the bus in order for the app to work. The School District Code is 37022. And you will need your students ID number.
Click here for instructions on how to set up Here Comes the Bus. Students can also download the app and view where their bus is located.

September is Suicide Prevention Month
Every parent wants to know how to protect their child. This month's newsletter is about exactly that: recognizing the signs, knowing what to do, and understanding that a caring conversation can change everything. When someone feels heard and supported, they are far less alone in their struggles. You don't need to be a therapist to make a difference. You just need to know what to look for and how to show up. In this month's newsletter, you'll find the warning signs to watch for, questions worth asking, and simple ways to let your child know they're loved, no matter what they're carrying.
Want to go deeper?
ParentGuidance.org’s no-cost course walks you through everything you need to know about suicide prevention, so you feel confident having the hard conversations before they're urgent.
