COLT FAMILY NEWS
October 26, 2026
Dear CPCS Families,
What a great weekend at CPCS! A huge thank you to our CIA, families, and the greater community for all of the time and effort that went into organizing, volunteering, and attending Saturday’s Fall Festival! It was wonderful to see so many people come together for a fun day celebrating our school community. We are so fortunate to have such incredible support for our students and school!
The Halloween fun will continue this week at CPCS with a Spirit Week, and we can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes on Friday! Please be sure to review the costume guidelines that were previously shared and are also included in this newsletter.
As a reminder, Friday, October 30th, is an early dismissal day at 11:30 AM. There will be no PM BOCES or PM PreK.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Emily McGregor

High School COLTS Day
Our latest COLTS Day was filled with opportunities for students to learn, explore, and connect beyond the classroom! Students in grades 7 and 8 traveled to Ogdensburg for a fun day of bowling and activities at the Boys & Girls Club, while students in grades 9–12 participated in Manufacturing Day. Each grade level visited different local manufacturing businesses, getting a firsthand look at the industries, careers, and opportunities available right here in our region. Some students even wrapped up their day with skating at Pine Street Arena! It was a great day of hands-on learning, new experiences, and making memories with classmates. A big thank you to our local businesses, community partners, staff, and chaperones who helped make these experiences possible!
School Health Requirements
Our school nurse has shared important information for families regarding required health examinations, immunizations, medications, and student health screenings for the 2026–27 school year. Please review the full letter below and reach out to our school nurse, Kim Distasio, with any questions.

IMPORTANT NOTES
ELIGIBILITY
High school students who are identified as academically ineligible must schedule a time each week to stay after school with the teacher(s) of the course(s) they are currently failing, from 2:45 pm - 3:15 pm. Teachers will update eligibility weekly for students who meet this requirement. Students who do not attend their scheduled support sessions will remain ineligible to participate in sports, extracurricular activities, and school dances. Academic eligibility is reviewed and reset every five weeks when progress reports and quarterly report cards are issued. We encourage families to check in with their students regularly and help them stay on track with their academic progress and eligibility requirements. This includes the Homecoming Dance on Friday, October 30th.
COLTS DAYS
Please be sure students are dressed appropriately for the weather on the day of their trip, and have turned in a lunch request form if they need a bagged lunch from school to bring with them.
October 27th - Grades K - 2 will go to Applewood Orchards!
October 28th - PreK Classes will go to the North Country Children's Museum!
If you are interested in chaperoning, please click here and complete this Google Form. Chaperones will meet the students at the field trip location and receive further information closer to the trip.

YEARBOOK ORDERING
Click the image to order!
The yearbook is now being created by a company called Treering. Ordering will be completed through the company rather than through the school. If you order early, there is a 10% discount on the $38.00 purchase price. As well as the wonderfully low price, each person who orders has two “custom pages” they can create that can highlight his/her child/children. Take advantage of this great opportunity!
PLEASE REMEMBER: YEARBOOKS CANNOT BE ORDERED THROUGH THE SCHOOL, ONLY THROUGH THE COMPANY.
