Celebrating Our Seniors: Honors and Scholarship Recognition Night

We invite you to join us for a special evening dedicated to celebrating the remarkable achievements of our graduating seniors. This event will formally recognize students who are graduating with Honors, acknowledge our Outstanding Students, and honor the recipients of generous local scholarships.

Event Details:

  • Date & Time: May 18 @ 7:00 PM

Official invitations, including attendance details, will be distributed to invited students at school the week prior to the event. Invited students are strongly encouraged to attend with their parents or guardians.

For any questions regarding the recognition night, please contact the counseling office.

Action Required: Dual Enrollment Transcripts for Seniors

Seniors who have taken dual enrollment classes must request official college transcripts and ensure they are sent to the college they plan to attend.

Steps to Take:

  1. Identify Required Transcripts:
    • Log into your Advanced Opportunities portal (where you requested funding for college credit).
    • Click on “Course Submission.” This section will show all colleges from which transcripts must be requested.
  2. Request Transcripts:
    • Search online: “How do I get official transcripts from [college name]?” (examples include College of Western Idaho, Northwest Nazarene University, or Idaho State University).

Crucial Tool for Graduating Seniors: The College & Scholarship Tracker

We've created a simple tool to help seniors and their parents keep all vital post-graduation information organized. This tracker is especially useful for students who plan to take time off or serve missions before starting school.

The Tracker Helps You Manage:

  • College accounts
  • Scholarships
  • Important post-graduation information

Immediate Action Required: Update Your Personal Email

Once you graduate, you will lose access to your school email address. To ensure you can access critical accounts later, please follow these steps:

  1. Update Accounts: Students must update any accounts that currently use their school email (including college and scholarship portals) to a personal email address.
  2. Set Recovery: Students should update their personal email account recovery information, using a parent's email and phone number as a backup. This ensures access to their email is maintained.

Yearbook Sales: Don't Miss Out—Limited Supply!

Yearbooks are going fast, and we only order a limited supply. Purchases are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, and we will not be ordering any more once they are sold out.

If you have not already purchased a yearbook and would like to, please note the following details:

  • Cost: $85.00
  • How to Purchase: See Niki Johnson in the Bookstore.

To check your purchase status in Infinite Campus, look for the yearbook line: if it says VOID, you have not purchased one. (The yearbook fee is removed in December so that you do not get a fee reminder on something you choose not to purchase).

On Civics Education and Blackfoot High School’s Social Studies Department:

Information: In April of 2026, Governor Little signed SB 1336, a bill affecting civics education in Idaho. This bill legislates specific content to be taught in our schools.

What this means for your student: Your student will continue to take their regularly scheduled social studies courses. There will be no undue burden on your student beyond our normal expectations. This bill does not significantly change civics education beyond what we already provide at Blackfoot High School.

With pride in our Civics Education, and on behalf of the BHS Social Studies Department,

Chase James

Social Studies Department Chair

BHDC at ISU One-Act Competition and Festival

Blackfoot High School Drama Company took 18 students to Idaho State University's 2026 High School One-Act Competition and Festival. Schools from all across the state prepared a 30-minute play (one-act). During the 2-day competition, students also had the opportunity to participate in workshops on all aspects of the theatre arts. Blackfoot's very own Tyson Corry received a medal and was selected to be a part of the All-Star Cast.

BHS Science Bowl Team Returns with a Stellar Performance

BHS made a triumphant return to the Science Bowl competition after a years-long absence. The team pressed their knowledge to the limits and nearly beat the eventual regional champions.

Team Captain Beverly Scott was selected for the all-region team following a stellar performance. With a young roster, the BHS Science Bowl team is demonstrating great potential. Look for more from the team in the coming year!

Blackfoot Esports Teams Aim for State Glory

The Blackfoot Esports program has had a very successful year. Four different teams "fought valiantly" throughout the season, and the program now has a "genuine shot at placing" in three of its events at the state level.

Teams competing in Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, and Fortnite are all representing Blackfoot well and might return home with a trophy this year.

Esports continues to grow each year, thanks to many talented and hard-working players. State competition is scheduled for May 15th through the 16th, where the teams will play schools from all across the state.
