The Fleming Flyer

A Note From Principal Roy
Greetings Fleming Families!
I hope this message finds you well! We are right back in the rhythm of things hear at Fleming and we are one week away from the end of the first semester! Everyone worked hard this week to make sure skating was a success for our students and so that STAR testing could take place too! I am excited to see the star data for our students and the progress they are making.
As you know the winter concert is coming right up. Next week we will be communicating some reminders and updates about the winter concert scheduled for Wednesday January 28th. We have very limited parking so please plan ahead that many people will need to park off campus as we need to guarantee the ability for emergency vehicles to be able to access all parts of the building and campus.
Please look through the updates below and enjoy the additional day off on Monday in celebration of Martin Luther King Day.
Have a great weekend,
- Matt

Reminders For Safe Walks To And From School
As we reach the mid-point of the year and with snow banks taking up more space on roads and walkways, we wanted to provide some reminders and tips for safe walks to and from school. We have also had a couple of isolated situations in which students have had interactions with older students or community members that were concerning. Please see the tips and reminder below!
- Stick to the main routes with sidewalks
- Walk in groups
- Arrange "walking busses" with neighborhood peers and parents
- If concerned or feeling unsafe in any way - go to a crossing guard, public place, or community business and ask for help or call a parent.
- Dress for the weather
- Be sure (especially with winter conditions) that cars see you and stop before crossing the street
