A Message from Mr. Chesser
Hello Bear Families!
Pep rally number 2 was another hit. We had performances by our Cheer, Band, Choir and Dance Team. We had a fun relay race of sliding air mattresses, towel wagons, and tricycles. We honored most spirited students. Eight grade walked away with the coveted Eightleena Spirit Stick for the 2nd pep-rally in a row. But the newest addition in the spirit of homecoming, our students voted for the very first Mr. and Mrs. Bear. Students cast votes for their favorite teachers, and the highest vote getters received the crowns!
This year's Mr. and Mrs. Bear are:
Coach Wingfield
and
Ms. Harris
It was another great week to be a Bear. Celebrations galore. Check them out below.

MJH's Very Own Wins "GRAND CHAMPION" at the Texas State Fair
Billie Benson showed her York market barrow at the State Fair of Texas on Thursday. She began the day by winning her class, then later in the day, was named breed champion. The best part of the day was when Billie’s pig was named GRAND CHAMPION Market Barrow for the entire show! This is a huge honor and we are so proud of her! Way to go Billie! Hard work DOES pay off! Congratulations!

Important Announcements
Celebrate Dyslexia Day
On Monday, October 5, we will kick off National Dyslexia Awareness by wearing red. Please encourage your students to wear red to school Monday. Throughout the week, our announcements will highlight famous quotes made by historians and celebrities with dyslexia. If you know anyone with Dyslexia, then you know how hard they work to keep up with their peers. Let's honor those work efforts on Monday. WEAR RED, BEARS!
Lost and Found: Being Donated 10/9
Please have your child check if they have anything in our lost and found. We have mostly clothing, lunch boxes and water bottles. We are planning to donate remaining lost and found items to a local charity at the end of next week. Here are some photos of our current Lost and Found:
MISD Athletics Needs Your Help
Parents, we are requesting your help with reinforcing student behavior expectations at MISD athletic events.
Our athletic events are a great opportunity for students, families, and our community to come together, show their school spirit, and make great memories. We want our students to have fun, cheer loudly, and enjoy being part of it all.
At the same time, we need everyone to understand that respectful and responsible student behavior is an expectation at our athletic events just as it is during the school day.
Please take a few minutes to talk with your student before the game and remind them that school expectations do not change when they leave campus and head to the stadium. Students are expected to follow directions, treat players, coaches, officials, opposing teams, staff, and fellow students with respect, and make good choices throughout the event.
Your conversation at home can make a real difference. We appreciate you reinforcing these expectations with your student and helping us create an environment where everyone can enjoy the game and feel welcome and respected.
Thank you for partnering with us and helping our students represent themselves, our school, and our community with pride.

MJH Cross Country included a District Champion Runner
The Cross Country Season ended this past Wednesday at the district meet hosted by MISD. Both 7th and 8th grade boys teams finished in the top 3 (8-2nd, 7-3rd). Our girls teams also did well. 7th grade closed in 9th place, while our 8th grade team does not qualify for team results due to the size of the team (5 members required to score). Individual top finishers included the Tri-county District Champion for 7th Grade Boys - Charles Dearing. Also, Bentley Crawford finished 10th and Adrian Ivey finished 12th. For 8th Grade boys, Connor Keyser finished 10th. On the Girls side, Cadence Evatt finished 15th for 8th Grade Girls and Skyler Rutledge finished 10th for 7th Grade. Well Done MJH CC!!!
