Weekly Staff Update

October 16th, 2026
Happy Friday!
What a WEEK! It was a busy one, but such a productive week at Ada! From conferences and the Book Fair to field trips, a visit from the symphony, GameChangers, early release, professional learning with mCLASS and DIBELS, our Blue Envelope staff meeting, and so much more, there was a LOT happening in and around our building. Thank you for the energy, flexibility, and care you continue to bring to our students and one another through it all. I hope you enjoy your well-deserved Monday off! Take the time to slow down, recharge, and enjoy a little extra time with your people.
Appreciate you all!

Marnie Szpieg, Emina Velic, and Mary Buchanan!
A huge shout out to our amazing food service team: Marnie, Emina, and Mary! Thank you for everything that you do each day to support our children in the cafeteria. Your time and effort in helping keep our students full and ready to learn does not go unnoticed! We appreciate all three of you!!!
Happy National School Lunch Week!
CKLA
- We are working on distributing the updated CKLA materials. Unfortunately, some items are still short a few. We are working on it as quick as we can! If you have questions, see Gabbi or Ryan. We will recycle those materials - OR, teams are keeping those materials to use them with kids as extra copies. Some don't have a lot of updates, just a few, so they can still be used. Teacher manuals should be recycled.
- CKLA Rep at Ada on October 21. This rep is different than Cooper! We will observe classrooms, they will model lessons, and join PLCs during common planning time. We will have an additional sub here for the day to help cover classrooms. It'll be a great day of learning and collaboration.

Golden Tickets
Teachers are still encouraged to pass out Golden Tickets to classrooms that are doing a great job collectively. You can earn a classroom reward at 5 tickets, 10 tickets, or 15 tickets.
Here is the new process for Golden Tickets;
- When you earn a Golden Ticket, you can track it on the helmets on the front bulletin board. Use golden star stickers to track them each time your class gets one. These will be provided to you.
- Save them up for the prize that your classroom would like.
- Once your class has decided to trade them in, notify Ryan and he will cover the stars you have traded in with green stickers.
- Ryan will schedule the prize with your classroom.
Thank you to Mr. Skinner's classroom for being the first class to trade in their tickets!
Pumpkin Decorating
We will be celebrating the fall season by having each classroom decorate a pumpkin! The pumpkins will be placed on the steps up to the front door. Classrooms can choose to decorate their pumpkin however they choose!
I will have a pumpkin available for each classroom as well as groups of staff in the building. Kitchen staff, specials teachers, office staff, preschool, paras, lunch/recess support staff, and custodians will all have the chance to decorate a pumpkin!
Please have the pumpkins completed and on the steps by Thursday, October 29th.
