End of Day Pick Up Policy
If you are picking up your child early from school, please be aware that the cutoff time for pick ups is now 2:45pm. The only exception to this is if you have an emergency situation, otherwise, we ask that you wait for the school day to finish.
If you are changing how your student is going home from school (ex: taking the bus instead of parent pick up) please make sure to call the office and relay any changes before 2:00pm.
Please keep in mind that, with 750 students in our school, the end of the day is a very busy time for students, teachers and staff and last minute requests for pick ups and transportations changes can create issues with getting kids to the right place at the end of the day.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership.
Bel Air PTA Fundraiser Update
We celebrated raising $5,000 toward our $30,000 goal with a hat day on Friday! Our next school-wide celebration will be Graffiti the Specialists when we reach $10,000. Fundraiser envelopes were sent home in student folders. Students who collect checks and cash should do so with adult supervision. Envelopes may be returned to school at any time and will be added to the fundraiser's total on 9/28, 10/2, and 10/5. Please be sure envelopes have student and teacher names.
Thank you for continuing to donate and share this fundraiser with friends, family, and neighbors. The money raised directly supports students and staff at Bel Air. Learn more and donate here: https://www.givebacks.com/causes/belair/campaigns/b607b962ba4c
Vision and Hearing Screenings
Bel Air's annual Vision and Hearing Screening will take place on Thursday, October 1. All First, Third and Fifth graders will be screened. If your student has glasses, please ensure they wear them to school to ensure accurate screening results. Parents will be notified if possible vision or hearing concerns are identified. If you do not wish your student to participate, please email both your student’s teacher and kimberly.jeong@moundsviewschools.org. If you have further questions, please contact the Health Office at 651-621-6304.

Apply for Educational Benefits
All students are offered one breakfast and one lunch meal at no cost each day at school as part of the Minnesota Free School Meals Program. Although no application is required to receive this meal benefit, filling out the Application for Educational Benefits is still important and households need to apply for Educational Benefits each school year.
Families who qualify are eligible for many great benefits, such as reduced (or free) fees on sports and activities, college application fees, transportation, community programs and more. Watch the video below to learn more and apply at mvpschools.org/reducedfees.

New program puts local foods on school menus
This school year, the Nutrition Services Department is thrilled to highlight local Minnesota farmers and producers through its MN Thursdays program. Thursdays this fall will feature different local foods while connecting our schools with Minnesota farms and producers.
This week, students enjoyed locally grown pears from Orchards of Breezy Hill and Triple Berry Jonny Pops made with real fruits in Elk River, Minnesota.
MN Thursdays are a fun way to highlight our Farm to School program, support the local economy and introduce students to fresh, seasonal food.
Curriculum Advisory Committee Representatives Needed

General Information
2026-2027 Bel Air Elementary Parent Handbook
Riding the Bus and Food/Drink
While riding the bus, students are expected to keep all food and drink in their backpacks. This expectation prevents choking incidents, exposure to life-threatening allergens, and promotes bus sanitation.
Building Security Procedures
A visitor screening system helps track visitors and volunteers at each school, providing a safe and monitored environment for students and staff. When parents come to pickup their child(ren), or visitors check in, they will be asked to present a valid state issued ID for entering into the system.
Phone Numbers/Staff Directory
Staff phone numbers and email addresses are available on the Bel Air Website at: Bel Air Staff. To reach a teacher via email: firstname.lastname@mvpschools.
