Welcome Back!

A short, but busy week! Our 1-5 students got back into the swing of things and we are excited to welcome our new K students tomorrow. It was amazing to hear all the noise and see all the action again in the hallways. Our Hamilton community has grown so large and we are so lucky to have you all a part of it!

Community Members Needed

There are many opportunities for Hamilton parents, caregivers, and community members to get involved throughout the year from volunteering, attending events, and participating in parent council. What makes School Council different is it is for parents, staff, and community members to come together and really dig deeper into the goals and progress of Hamilton in relation to the overall district.

We are looking for parents or community members (maybe your student has moved onto Chapman or WHS?) to join our school council. We will meet 3-4 times during the year and review school data, review progress towards our School Improvement Plan and brainstorm solutions to issues that may impact Hamilton and beyond. The work we do as a group will go directly to the School Committee via our yearly presentation.

Please email Mrs. Panetta if you are interested in joining this group, which meets after school in the fall, winter, and spring with an option to be virtual if needed. I would love to get some new voices in the conversation and look forward to working with our returning and new families.

Safety Routines and Drills

These lessons include ALICE emergency training, exit awareness, fire drill expectations, evacuation locations and stay in place/lockdown routines. Please know that we are careful to explain all of these terms and routines to students in developmentally appropriate ways. As hard as it can be to think and talk about some of these things, safety is our priority, and practice and preparation are essential.

Attendance Call Procedures

Please refer to our absence call procedure for when your child is not attending school.

Attendance Counts

Having students at school and on time daily is a major part of having a successful school year both academically and socially emotionally. Please send your child to school every day, unless they have any of the prohibited symptoms. Let us know how we can help if attendance is a concern for your family.

Lunch & Breakfast

Students may bring their lunch from home or choose from the daily menu. Breakfast will be grab and go and lunch will have hot and cold options. All students will have access to meals at no cost.

Bus Expectations

We want to remind families that riding the bus is a privilege and that safety for all students is extremely important. We will continue to review behavior expectations and adjust individual plans as necessary so that all students are having a safe and enjoyable transportation experience.

Parent Council Parent Council

A large part of what makes our school community such a great place to be is the strong Parent Council organization. This is for every Hamilton parent to get involved in, whether on a small or large scale, working to bring experiences for our students that go above and beyond general school offerings.

Please consider lending a hand to this dedicated organization.

Monthly meetings are held via Zoom. Please join us whenever it fits in your schedule. No need to even turn your camera on! Each meeting we will discuss ongoing initiatives and upcoming events.
