Halloween Information Coming Soon!

Our Dryden Halloween Celebration will take place during the afternoon on Friday, October 30, 2026! More details about the celebration will be shared with families in a separate email later this week. One important change we want to share ahead of time is that our outdoor Halloween parade route will be different this year. The route has been shortened to accommodate our kindergarten Dolphins, who will be proudly leading the parade this year! Please take a look at the map below so families and friends who plan to attend can familiarize themselves with the new route. We can’t wait to see our Dolphins dressed up and ready to celebrate!

Kindergarten Activity Night Was a Splash!

Thursday night was filled with laughter, excitement, and plenty of fun as our kindergarten students and their families came together for Kindergarten Activity Night! Our youngest Dolphins had a wonderful time playing games, showing off their skills, and making special memories with their families. A huge thank you to our Dryden PTA volunteers for planning and running such a fun evening, and to our 4th and 5th grade Student Patrol members who generously gave their time to help with the games and cheer on our kindergarten students. We are so grateful for the way our Dryden community comes together to make special events like this possible!

Student Voices Making a Difference

We are so proud of our students who are serving on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council this year! Thirty-nine students from across District 25 schools interviewed with a panel and were selected to serve on this special council. The purpose of the council is to support student engagement, perspective, and advocacy while strengthening relationships and connections among students across the district. The group will meet five times throughout the school year and will have opportunities to share their ideas and perspectives with the District 25 Board of Education. Two Dryden students and three South Middle School students proudly represented their schools by presenting at the September 29th Board of Education meeting, and we could not be more proud of them! Way to represent, Dolphins!

Bookmobile Visit

The 2nd grade classes have been learning about places to live, work, and play in our community. One of the places that citizens enjoy spending time in Arlington Heights is the LIBRARY! The Arlington Heights Memorial Library’s Bookmobile visited the Dryden 2nd Graders on Tuesday, September 29th. Each 2nd-grade class boarded the bookmobile and learned about how it works and how the materials are arranged, and the children had the opportunity to check out a book!

Volunteers Needed for the LMC!

The LMC is looking for a few volunteers for the Shelving Team. The Shelving Team helps reshelve all the books our amazing readers have checked out. No experience necessary, but if you know your way around the Dewey Decimal system, this is the job for you!

Our ideal shelver:

- can help at 1:15 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If that time doesn't work for you, we can work it out.

- can commit to a regular schedule. That can be weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

- is detail oriented and loves things neat and tidy.
