A Message From Your Student Officers
Virginia Thespians, it has been an honor to serve you and the entire Virginia Theatre Community over the past year! Seeing so many of you attend VTF 2026 to learn, create, and explore your passion for theatre has been one of the most enriching experiences of our high school careers.
In the world we live in today, there is constant discourse of where the arts stand in the world. Each student, educator, and community member that makes up Virginia Thespians is the reason the arts and theatre will continue to live and thrive. As long as each of us continue to use our voices to create the change we wish to see, the arts will always have a place in Virginia, and beyond.
To our current VTOs, I thank all of you for your service to this organization and am wishing you the best of luck in all your future endeavors. You are the reason that festival was such an incredible experience for so many students this past year.
To the incoming VTOs, I know what’s to come may feel daunting, but I also know that you will continue to create "A Place to Call Home" with VA Thespians for all in Virginia. Enjoy the experience and have fun, and you will do great things.
Thanks for an incredible past year VA Thespians, and break legs 26-27 VTOs!
-Ashnil D. Dasan, VTO Chair (on behalf of the 25-26 VTOs)
License Training Musicals --> "Grow with Shows" Now
What’s the hardest part of teaching theatre?
For most drama teachers we've talked to, one thing keeps coming up: inequality.
How do you give every student the chance to truly train like a lead—acting, singing, and dancing?
Grow With Shows is the solution.
Our classroom-ready Training Musicals are designed so every role has equal lines, equal solos, equal stage time, and equal character value—giving every student a real lead-role experience.
With short 10–15 minute shows and flexible cast sizes, they fit easily into class time, workshops, or end-of-year projects.
REAL RESULTS:
At Spanish Fork High School, one teacher used our Training Musicals to empower 120 students with the opportunity to truly take the lead. Each cast took full ownership of their production—directing, choreographing, acting, and singing—while he stepped into the role of coach.
100% participated. 100% performed. Every student experienced a lead role.
In his words:
“Training Musicals give them an opportunity to be in charge, be creative, be seen… and they all get an equal say.”
Try it in your classroom—on us.
Finish the year with every student creating, performing, and growing.
