The Weekly Splash

MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL KENELY
Dear Donald STEM Academy Families,
We had a great first week back, and it was wonderful to see our Dolphins jump right back into learning and routines!
On Friday, we celebrated our Distinguished Dolphins during our monthly SPLASH Assembly. We are so proud of the students who were recognized for “Sharing Their Gifts,” and we sincerely thank the parents who were able to join us to support their child during this special moment.
I also want to share an update regarding the Open House survey that sent out before break. Thank you for taking the time to provide such thoughtful and insightful feedback. Based on your responses, we have adjusted our Open House schedule to help with parking and to reduce crowding in the hallways.
📅 Open House – Wednesday, March 5
-
Grades K–2: 5:30–6:15 PM
-
Grades 3–5: 6:15–7:00 PM
We believe this updated schedule will create a smoother and more enjoyable experience for our families. Thank you for your continued partnership and support—we look forward to seeing you on March 5.

We encourage you to take a few minutes this week to fill out a Recognize Someone form! This is a wonderful way to share your appreciation for a teacher, staff member, or even our Principal or Assistant Principal. A few kind words can go a long way in brightening someone’s day and reminding them of the impact they are making.

SKATING 101
As soon as students return from the break, all 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will begin the In-line Skating unit during their assigned PE classes. Most of you have already taken care of the $12 gear/skate rental payment and permission slip right before the break (thank you!) , but if you haven’t, you can find the permission slip HERE and the payment link will pop up when you submit the permission slip.
Below is the schedule for when each homeroom class will skate. They will get 4 skating lessons with a 5th date scheduled to use if needed. On the dates your child skates, please have them to wear tall thick socks to avoid rubbing, a beanie, hooded shirt or hat to go under the helmet since the helmets are shared between classes or they can bring their own bike helmet from home. Due to liability, students are NOT able to bring their own skates from home. If you are able to come volunteer to help kids get geared up, we welcome as much help as we can get. Must be voly cleared, skating volunteers please Sign Up HERE.

Want to go on Class Field Trips this year? Volunteer on campus?
If you are wanting to attend your child's field trips, help with events, or volunteer on campus you MUST have a VOLY background check complete. It is a very easy process and nice to get out of the way early before it's too late!
Lewisville ISD's VOLY site is open and ready to accept volunteers for the 2025-2026 school year. All volunteers on LISD campuses must have an approved background check on file. LISD uses LewisvilleISD.voly.org to post volunteer opportunities and to process background checks. Please go to the site and either create an account or update your account from a previous year. VOLY also has an app! You can find it in the app store for either Apple or Android products. Be sure to select that you want to work with Lewisville ISD. We look forward to having you on campus as a volunteer soon!
