Counselor's Corner
8th grade parents,
Individual Graduation Conferences (IGP) are coming soon! The IGP is a required yearly meeting (8th-12th grade) conducted with parents and students to assist students in selecting high school courses, as well as, exploring future career aspirations! The IGP conference assists students in ensuring they complete all graduation requirements and ultimately, have a successful plan after high school. Now is a great time to have career related conversations with your child. Our Career Specialist, Mrs. Boughtnight, and I have recently had students complete a career assessment and we have spoken to students about the career related opportunities offered in Lex 2 that are available at Lexington 2 Innovation Center which we toured last month. To help you prepare for the IGP, please take a look at the image below for some of the clusters and majors available, as well as, use the L2IC webpage to read more about the courses they offer. Additionally, please ask your child to log into the ACT Profile Career Assessment and show you their results!
Look for more information later this month about IGP parent information sessions, as well as, how to schedule your IGP conference.
