FLEX Fridays
Mosier Community School will be offering 17 Flexible Learning Enrichment eXperiences (FLEX Fridays) for our students this year!
These optional, hands-on learning days run from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with transportation provided from The Dalles. FLEX Fridays are provided at NO COST to our MCS Families.
Through our incredible community partners—Arts in Education of the Gorge and Let's Get Out—students will have access to enriching activities and field trips.
To help our partners prepare the right amount of supplies and staffing, advance registration is required. Our first two FLEX Fridays are September 17 and September 25. Registration for our first two FLEX is currently opened. September registration closes on August 28 at 4pm.
Registration for October 2 and 9 will open Tuesday, September 8 - Friday, September 25.
NWASCO Transportation
Mosier Community School is fortunate to have a supportive sponsor district that can provide limited transportation for students to and from Wahtonka to Mosier Community School.
If your family will be using NWASCO transportation, please contact them at NWASCO Transportation Department.
School Hours, Drop Off, and Pick Up Information
- NWASCO bus drop off is at 8:15 am at the middle school gate
- Students may arrive to school no earlier than 7:45am at Gate 1
- School begins at 8:20am
- Dismissal is at 3:50pm
- Car pick up begins at 3:50pm at Gate 1
- Bus departs from the middle school at 3:55pm
- Please drive slowly in our parking area and on the streets near the school
- Bus students loads and unloads at north of the middle school - please do not park in that area
- All K-5 students being picked up or walking home need to exit through the main gate (Gate 1)
On the first day of school, families are invited to walk their student to class for drop off.
To help make morning drop off safe and efficient for students and staff, please have your student ready to leave the car as soon as a staff member welcomes them. If you need more time for drop off, please park and walk your student to Gate 1. There is NO PARKING in the unloading/loading zone of Gate 1 area.
In the afternoon, if you are picking your student(s) up from school, please remain in your car until a staff member has called your student for pick up. During the first week of school, we will be providing a sign that has your child's first and last name to be place in your car's front window on the passenger's side.
After picking up your child, if you need more time to buckle up, please pull into the parking lot to allow traffic to continue on. All students being picked up or walking home must exit using Gate 1.
Please contact the office by email (fludd@nwasco.k12.or.us) for any changes to your child's regular routine on or before 2pm. This allows our staff plenty of time to notified your child's teacher.
ALL preschool students need to be walked into the preschool to be signed in and out by a registered parent or caregiver. Please only park in the designated parking lot.

Sign Up to Volunteer
Volunteers are a very important part of running a successful charter school. There are several ways to help out at Mosier Community School! We need volunteers to help out in our classrooms, join our Tiger's Den PTO, join us at lunchtime to help with supervision, or sharing your skills on our FLEX Fridays!
Please make sure that your volunteer background check is turned in to the office the first month of school. Forms can be found below. We follow the NWCSD Volunteer Guidelines.
Lost and Found
Our Lost & Found area is currently empty! Once school begins it will quickly fill up with jackets and sweatshirts, water bottles and lunchboxes. Before you know if we will have a quite a collection of misplaced items waiting to find their way home.
How you can help:
Label Everything: The easiest way to ensure lost items get back to your child is to write their first and last name clearly on the inside tags of jackets, sweatshirts, and on the bottoms of lunchboxes and water bottles.
Check Regularly: If your student is missing something, please encourage them to check the Lost & Found area, or feel free to stop by and take a look yourself during school hours.
Unclaimed items are donated to local charities at the end of each trimester, so please check for missing belongings soon! Thank you for helping us match lost items to their owners.
Registration for the 2026-27 Preschool Year!
Mosier Community Preschool currently has open Preschool Promise spots available for families! If you know anyone with young children who would benefit from a high-quality preschool program at no cost, please send them our way. We’d love to welcome them to our school community!
