Walpole METCO & Friends Bowling Event

Walpole METCO hosted the Walpole METCO & Friends Elementary Bowling Event at Kings in Dedham, bringing together students and families from both the METCO program and the local community for an afternoon of bowling, pizza, and fun.

This event provided a valuable opportunity for families to build meaningful relationships beyond the school setting—connections that will last a lifetime. By fostering these organic interactions, we take an important step toward bridging the gap between communities.

A special thank you to Boston Bridges Initiative for supporting this wonderful event!

Mystery Reader visits are always a special treat. Students love the surprise of seeing a parent, guardian, or even a sibling walk through the door to read to their class.

Some of our 8th grade students are currently preparing for the Tenacity Middle School Challenge, which will take place on May 10th at Bedford High School. As part of their preparation, students have been engaging in STEM activities.

One of our dedicated seniors and a member of the National Honor Society has been volunteering at the middle school every Tuesday and Wednesday, providing tutoring support to students. In addition to helping academically, she’s been building strong and positive relationships with the students she works with

A few high school students from the Multicultural Alliance have been spending one afternoon a week working with elementary students at Boyden Elementary School. Some weeks, they collaborate on engaging STEM projects, while other weeks are focused on supporting students with Math, ELA, and Social Studies.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for the high school students to mentor younger peers and make a meaningful impact in their learning and growth.

Our second session will after April Break.
