This Week at Heritage High
May 11, 2025
Two More Weeks With The Generals!!!
Three Very Important Announcements:
1. "Senior-itis...NO SAYS I...!!!"
Parents of HHS Seniors: Don't let your Senior fall victim to "Senioritis". Make sure they know any Senior who is failing any class will be required to stay and work on assignments for that class during the early release time on Wednesdays starting THIS Wednesday, April 16th. They will report to the credit recovery room to improve their grade as we approach graduation. This will occur every Wednesday from April 16th - May 14th. We want to ensure every Senior has all the support they need to finish strong and graduate. If you have a senior who is failing a class currently, please encourage them to work hard and get that grade to passing so they don't have to stay on Wednesdays. We had 27 Seniors on our list as of this past week and we met with all of them in person to make sure they knew. Help reinforce this with your senior students! Go Generals!!!
2. Please Pay Any/All Cafeteria Balances As Soon As You Can
HHS Parents/Guardians: The situation with cafeteria balances is a little out of control and we need your help. As of this past week, our students owe over $20,000 in cafeteria charges. We made adjustments earlier in the year to slow the increase in this bill but it is still a substantial amount. We have been contacting parents and updating them about these charges. Thank you to those of you who have paid your student's bill. We still have a long way to go so please be sure to check your student's cafeteria balance. We have several outstanding balances that need to be paid as soon as possible. If you think you would qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch, then contact the school quickly. Also, if you or your place of business is interested in donating funds to cover some of these charges, please reach out to the school. We are certain some of these families would appreciate your kindness. Thank you for your help!--UPDATED: Special thanks to those of you who have sent in payments. We have been able to lower our charges from $22,000 to $17,000. We still have a long way to go but this is a great start.
3. Senior Spotlight Ads On Sale Now- Update Link Below
The deadline to reserve Senior Spotlight Ads in the 24-25 yearbook is May 9th! That is less than 3 weeks away. Senior Spotlight Ads are still on sale! There is a limited number of pages available for these ads this year, so reserve your spot today by filling out the Senior Ad Form

School Safety Is A Priority
Parents, please help your students understand the importance of being aware of their surroundings. Please encourage your child to say something if they see or hear something that sounds un-safe or potentially dangerous. A courageous student willing to report something suspicious can make all the difference. This is something they should practice inside and outside of school to ensure their safety.
Everyone Is Responsible For School Safety
Students who see or hear something suspicious have many options when it comes to reporting what they see. Make sure they know they can report to an administrator, a teacher, a school counselor, or an adult they trust. They can also text hello to 741-741. Leaders cannot act on information they don't have so please encourage your student report what they see and hear if it is suspicious or dangerous. We're better together!
Arriving After 8:15???
Any student arriving after 8:15 am will need to enter through the front office. CCA, Work-Based Learning, and Dual Enrollment students who arrive on campus after 8:15 will need enter the building through the front office. We have posted signs at the gym entrance to let students know this as well.
Purchase Your Parking Permits ASAP...
Student drivers need to purchase a parking permit as soon as possible. Parking permits are $30 and can be purchased in the HHS Front Office.

Heritage Parents,
One of the biggest needs for HHS is to find people willing to become bus drivers for Catoosa County Schools. Please help us to continue to get the word out so that we can find and train courteous, reliable, safe and professional bus drivers! We need you to spread the word! Please speak with your friends, family and neighbors to see if they may know of anyone interested in becoming a part of our outstanding team.
