Family Communications
This Friday, we announced to all sports teams that we are adopting TalkingPoints as our official communication platform for delivering updates more quickly, especially to share cancellations, schedule changes, or other time-sensitive information. Emails are great, but they often aren't the fastest way to reach everyone.
Below are the specific instructions (available in English and Spanish) for getting set up on TalkingPoints:
In General to get started:
- Download Talking Points for Families
- Set up your account with the correct contact information and set up notifications.
- Join your "class" (Sport Team) with the codes provided:
- Cross Country Code: BWRN0U
- Soccer Code: XD26KY
- Volleyball Code: FQ5FDB
Volunteer Process
To volunteer at Jungman, you need clearance, EVERY SCHOOL YEAR, from Chicago Public Schools! This requires a few steps!
- Login/Create an account online
- Bring your photo ID to the office or email it to Ms. Jessica at jmoreno83@cps.edu
- WATCH for an email from CPS that has a video you need to watch. When you complete the video, you download and send a copy of the certificate to volunteer@cps.edu
If you don't follow these steps, you will not be approved! This is not a Jungman policy, this is a District Policy!
The Eagle Alliance Movement
The Eagle Alliance Movement (TEAM) is a dedicated group of parent volunteers who bring our school community to life! They plan exciting events, organize fundraisers, and support key student initiatives—all with the goal of making our school stronger and more connected.
Everything they do is powered by 100% volunteer energy, creativity, and care. From community-building events to fundraising efforts, TEAM works hard to create opportunities for families, students, and staff to come together.
Check out the section below for their community initiatives, fundraising projects, and this year’s calendar of events.
If you’d like to learn more, get involved, or share ideas, reach out anytime at hello@teamjungman.org TEAM would love to hear from you!
We are a Welcoming City and School District
We know that immigration enforcement continues to create fear and anxiety for many in our community, especially for our immigrant families. Please know that our school stands with you. We are committed to providing support, sharing resources, and offering reassurance as we navigate these challenges together.
As a reminder, CPS is a District that has strong protections already on the books for our students and staff; you can read about them here. These protections were reaffirmed in a Board of Education resolution in November of 2024.
As a reminder, current federal law protects children’s rights to a free public education, regardless of their immigration status or their family’s immigration status. Current federal policy also places restrictions on the conduct of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as it relates to schools. Schools are partially public buildings that are considered “sensitive locations,” where ICE is currently restricted from carrying out enforcement actions, with some exceptions.
Our school is filled with caring adults who will go above and beyond every day, not just to educate our students, but to care for and protect them. That’s why the best, safest place for your children is at school.
Please be sure your emergency contact information is up-to-date and on file at school. And please visit cps.edu/newadminguidance for information and resources pertaining to immigration, and to other groups that may be targeted by the new administration. Below are are helpful tools. We are here to support you if you have any questions or concerns!
- CPS's is providing our school communities with a new webpage, cps.edu/NewAdminGuidance, that has up-to-date information.
- There are also updated resources from the City of Chicago to support our families with legal services and hotlines, emergency family planning, healthcare options among other things. The guides can be found in English, Spanish, and French.
Know Your Rights
CPS is sharing this resource from the National Immigrant Justice Center with critical information that can help students and families protect themselves and defend their rights. We encourage you to share this information with others who may be impacted.
Trainings/Workshops
- Enlace Chicago continues to offer programs and supports for families.
