Nurse’s Notes
By
Cindy Hoffman BSN, RN
Teeth and gums reveal the inside story of your overall health -- from signs of diabetes to heart disease to osteoporosis. It's important to take care of your mouth and teeth starting in childhood. If you don't, you could have problems with your teeth and gums - like cavities or even tooth loss.
Here's how to keep your mouth and teeth healthy:
* Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste
* Floss your teeth every day
* Snack smart – limit sugary snacks
* Don't smoke or chew tobacco
* See your dentist regularly
Choptank Community Health System school based dental program will be visiting our school in March to provide dental screenings, cleanings, sealants if needed and will make referrals for prescriptions and dental emergencies. If you would like to sign your student up for this program, have them pick up an enrollment form from the nurse’s office or call me at 410-479-3612.
Lucas Nagel Shirts
Our CRHS baseball team has joined with the Nagel family and the Caroline Law Enforcement Officers FOP Lodge 118 to sell shirts in memory of our former SRO, Cpl Lucas Nagel, who died in December.
