The Lemon Crest ROAR

Dear Lemon Crest Families,
I'm sending our Family ROAR a day early to let you know that tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 5 is our FIRST All-School Assembly on the blacktop at 8am. Families are welcome to join for the assembly! We ask that you enter and exit through the walking gate, stand behind the classes, and exit through the walking gate after the assembly's conclusion. I'll be leading this assembly, but in a couple of months, we'll have our Student Leadership Council representatives in 4th and 5th grade lead the assemblies!
We can't wait to see you there!
ALSO tomorrow is our first PTA Family Game Night! Join other Lemon Crest Families in the MPR for Minute to Win It Games! See the flyer below for more information.
UPDATE:
Back to School Night for 1st through 5th Grades (including all 3 of our SDC classes) will be on Wednesday, September 10 from 5:00pm until 6:30pm. Back to School Night will be strictly informational meetings for parents/caregivers. It is not a time that you'll be able to see your child's work or talk to the teachers about your child's progress so far. If you have alternate childcare, we recommend that you arrange that for your child. We will have limited number of ESS staff to monitor children on the playground, but again, if it is possible, please arrange alternative childcare.
Here is the schedule for the evening:
- 5:00-5:30pm: All parents/caregivers meet in the MPR for our annual Title 1 Information Meeting with Principal Price, followed by a short PTA information session and introduction of our Music Teacher, Ms. Imhof.
- 5:30-6:00pm: Session 1: All parents/caregivers meet in their child's classroom for their teacher's Back to School Night Presentation.
- 6:00-6:30pm: Session 2: If you have children in other classes, you can attend the second session in another classroom.
- 6:25-6:30pm: Families exit the school grounds. Teachers will send out their Back to School Night slides and information for you to review. If you have specific questions for your child(ren)'s teacher, please message them on Dojo. Our Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up in October during the week of October 6-9.
Finally, a celebration! We're so excited that we're continuing our partnership with Feeding San Diego in order to have a FREE Food Pantry right here at Lemon Crest in our MPR on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. It was previously the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, so be sure to update your calendar. We'll have our September pantry this coming Wednesday, Sept 10 and then again Sept 24, both from 11:45am-1:45pm. This food pantry is available to our Lemon Crest families AND our Lakeside community, so let your family and friends know!
Last night, Wednesday, Sept 3, our amazing Community Liaison, Mirna, as well as our awesome school mascot, Leo the Lion, and I were invited to Feeding San Diego's celebration event at their headquarters, where we learned that last year, 20,520 meals were provided to our families! INCREDIBLE! Check out the pics below!
