Dear Adventure Families,

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year at Adventure Elementary! What a wonderful start to the year it has been! We have loved welcoming our students and families back to Adventure and seeing our school come alive again. The first days of school are always filled with excitement, a few butterflies, new routines, and lots of learning—and we are so grateful to be sharing this beginning with your children.

During these first days, we welcomed family members to walk their students to the classroom to help support the transition to school. We know that those first few mornings can be a big moment for both children and families! Beginning Monday, however, we will return to our regular visitor protocols to help ensure school safety and protect valuable instructional time.

A few important reminders:

  • All adults must sign in at the front office as a guest before entering the building.

  • Adults are welcome to eat breakfast with their children. We ask that adults exit the building once announcements begin so teachers can begin instruction and students can transition into their school day.

  • Between 8:00 and 8:30, adults will not be able to sign in as visitors to escort students to their classrooms. Our office staff are happy to help students who need additional support getting settled.

  • Students who arrive after 8:05 are considered tardy and must be accompanied by an adult into the front office to receive a tardy pass.

We also have some exciting resources to help families stay connected to what is happening in classrooms! Teachers' August newsletters are now posted and ready to explore. Click the “What is my student learning this month?” button below to see what your child's class will be learning this month. Teachers will continue posting a new newsletter on our website during the first week of each month. And, as always, you can expect to hear from us through this family newsletter every other Friday with important updates, celebrations, upcoming events, and ways to stay connected to our Adventure community.

Thank you for partnering with us as we begin another year of learning, growing, and Creciendo Juntos. We are so glad to have your families as part of Adventure!

Saludos,

Sarah & Marisa

Dual Language Announcements Dual Language Announcements

Our Dual Language Enrichment program has rolled up to 4th grade and we are so excited! Our fourth graders are diving right into literacy in both languages. One of the skills they are currently learning in Spanish Literacy is the rules of accentuation and they are reviewing previously learned phonics skills in English Literacy. In Math in English they are reviewing Multiplication strategies and in Science in Spanish they have started their unit on Organisms: Structure and Function. It’s amazing to see what our oldest Dual Language learners can do!

On the other end of the spectrum, our youngest Dual Language learners are just getting started. Today is the first day that all of our Kindergarteners will be together. We can’t wait to establish our bilingual pairs and to start the journey of learning together! The future is bright! ¡Vamos marmotas!

At Adventure, every student matters, and every school day counts! Regular attendance gives students the opportunity to learn, build relationships, participate in classroom experiences, and feel connected to their school community. As parents and caregivers, you play an important role in helping your child develop strong attendance habits and supporting them in getting to school every day.

🌟 A Chance to Be an Attendance Hero!

Each month, students have a fresh opportunity to earn our Monthly Attendance Award! Students who have 0–1 excused absences and/or tardies during the month can earn the monthly attendance award and be recognized for their commitment to showing up and being ready to learn.

And the best part? You get to START FRESH every month! 🎉

A challenging month doesn't mean a student can't be an Attendance Hero the next month. We want to celebrate progress, improvement, and positive attendance habits all year long.

August's 10 Day Attendance Challenge! August's challenge will be from August 17th-28th. Students will have the opportunity to earn a Bonus Recess for missing 0-1 excused absences. Please call the office when your child will be absent, 303-853-1410. If your child has a doctor's appointment, please turn in a doctor's note to the office within 3 days of the absence.

Why Does Attendance Matter?

Research from Attendance Works shows that chronic absence means missing 10% or more of the school year for any reason—excused or unexcused. Missing 10 days of school is considered truant. That's why we want to notice attendance concerns early, partner with families, and provide support before absences become a larger barrier to learning. Our goal is to partner with families, understand barriers, celebrate progress, and support every student in being present and connected.

At Adventure, We Believe...

Every Day Matters.
Every Student Matters.
Every Minute Counts.

Thank you for partnering with us to help your child show up, belong, learn, and grow! ❤️

Let's make every day count, Marmotas!
