VOLUME 17

God of Love, Thank you for every teacher who notices a child’s special gift. Thank you for teachers who are listeners and gentle guides. Thank you for teachers who expect much and love enough to demand more. Thank you for the special teacher each one of us remembers.
God of Mercy, Sustain teachers who give everything they have. Strengthen teachers who assume the blame for so many problems beyond their control. Help exhausted teachers rest.
God of Strength, Encourage teachers to care and inspire them to nourish. Motivate teachers to keep on learning for the fun of it and to make learning enjoyable for children.
We wonder at teachers who know how to quiet a class of five year olds or help fourth graders be empathetic. We admire teachers who enjoy middle school writers, or teach physics or math of history. Bless the people who are expected to accomplish these miracles and who know how to comfort children when miracles don’t happen.
God of Justice, help and support teachers in their special calling, wherever they teach and whatever obstacles they must face. We pray these things in the name of our great teacher, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME
Dear Parents,
Tomorrow we celebrate World Teachers’ Day—a wonderful opportunity to thank and acknowledge our dedicated teachers for their skilled work in educating, inspiring, and supporting your children. I am truly grateful for the genuine care and respect that all teachers at St John Paul II CPS show toward our students.
Interschool Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to our athletes who represented SJPIICPS at last Thursday’s Interschool Athletics Carnival. There were some outstanding individual performances, and as a team, we competed strongly. A big thank you to Miss Jones for training the team before school, and to all staff who supported and supervised on the day. I’m also proud to share that our students were excellent ambassadors for our school—cheering each other on and displaying great sportsmanship throughout the event.
Swimming Lessons
Swimming is a vital life skill, and we’re pleased to offer a dedicated block of lessons to support this learning. With the school holidays approaching, I encourage families to consider enrolling their children in an additional two-week block of swimming lessons. Having two sets of lessons close together helps reinforce water safety and swimming skills.
2026 Enrolments
We are currently conducting interviews for 2026 enrolments, with places available across most year levels. We are also accepting applications for Kindy 2027. If you know families new to the area, please encourage them to contact us for more information about our school.
As a reminder, we introduced a Refer-a-Friend incentive last term: if you refer a friend who enrols at SJPIICPS, you will receive $100 off your child’s school fees.
2026 Planning
We are preparing class lists for 2026. If your child will not be returning to SJPIICPS next year, please notify the school office as soon as possible.
School Run4Fun Colour Explosion
Excitement is building for our School Run4Fun Colour Explosion on Friday, 14 November! Don’t forget to fundraise—proceeds will go toward purchasing a new swing for the top oval.
To encourage participation:
- The class with the most students fundraising will receive an icy pole treat.
- Any student who raises over $100 will be entered into a raffle to slime a teacher! So far, three brave teachers have volunteered—three chances to slime!
Annual School Community Meeting
Our Annual School Community Meeting will be held in the school library on Wednesday, 19 November at 5:00pm. If you’re interested in joining the P&F Committee or the Advisory Council, please complete the form at the end of this newsletter and return it to the office.
Parents are warmly encouraged to attend. If you’d like more information, feel free to contact me directly.
