Message From the Principal
Hello, hello Walgrove Families!
Wow! Cinderella was seriously AMAZING!!!! I hope you all had an opportunity to see the incredible performance by our own Walgrove students!
We are getting very close to the end of the school year. A few upcoming events:
- Monday May 25, 2026 - Memorial Day NO SCHOOL
- Friday, May 29, 2026 - Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast and WE Moves
- Friday June, 5, 2026 - Kindergarten culmination
- Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 5th grade culmination
- Wednesday, June 10, 2026 - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
We strive for excellent student attendance through the end of the school year at Walgrove. In order to achieve excellent attendance, students must arrive on-time for learning. Our gates open at 7:30 in the morning so that you can walk your child to their classrooms. School begins at 8:03 and the late bell is 8:05. Our teachers utilize every minute of class time for instruction. I would hate for your child to miss important learning if they do not arrive on-time. Please make sure your get your child here by 8:03am.
Have a great week, families!
Stacy Rajab, Principal

2026/2027 School Year
The 2026/2027 school year calendar is out! Please 2026/2027 LAUSD School Calendar.
Start planning ahead! School starts in the Fall on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
SUMMER of LEARNING
LAUSD will be offering a Summer of Learning from June 22-July 20 for students. If you are interested in learning more about it or enrolling, please see: https://summeroflearning.lausd.org/
Please note: it will not take place at Walgrove this summer.
**Reminders:
LUNCHES: We welcome students enjoying the free school lunch or bringing a packed lunch from home. Please be sure that you do not send glass containers with your child to school.
INDEPENDENT STUDY: Walgrove offers an Independent Study Plan that will provide attendance credit for your child in the event of a planned absence (such as a trip or medical). It must be requested a week in advance of a upcoming absence. Please notify the office and the teacher of your request for an Independent Study. An Independent Study Plan is then created and agreed upon by the teacher, student, and parent. The completed work is then returned for grading and attendance credit. Please note this option is only available for up to 15 days.
FENCE REMINDERS:
Please do not give ANY students food through the fence or gates. This is a safety and allergy concern. Please come through main office. Additionally, we need to refrain from allowing the students to pet our dogs through the fence for the same reasons. Thank you.
MORNING GATES:
The morning gates open up at 7:30. Don't forget that that at 8:03 the first bell rings for school to start. At 8:05 the tardy bell rings and the gates will be locked. This is to make sure that student instruction and safety is a focus at Walgrove. You are welcome to walk your child to the classrooms in the mornings. If you are walking through the office with your child, please make sure that Ms. Nery has a chance to take their name/room number so that we can account for your child being at school.
SIGN-IN:
Please make sure that if you are on-campus for volunteering or helping out you have signed-in at the office. The is essential for the safety of all.
CONFIDENTIALITY:
Please remember that every student is learning at their capacity. They make mistakes and learn from them. This could be due to school being a new experience for them, academic struggles, or things that are going on outside of school. It is inappropriate to discuss other children's behaviors or academic strengths or weaknesses, period. Walgrove is a place where we value uniqueness and diversity. Let's keep it that way by not talking about other children.
