Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
What a beautiful week of sunshine as we wrapped up our first full school week for the 26-27 school year! Students are becoming acclimated to their schedules as they continue navigating their classes.
This edition of The BHS Express contains information about our Flex A and Flex B Schedules that we will be running next week on September 3rd and 4th. Encourage your student to look through this adjusted schedule.
The Student Council announced the theme for Homecoming 2026, so take a look at the flyer that is in this newsletter as we announce that dance ticket sales will go on sale on Friday, September 4th. To be able to attend the Homecoming Dance, students must not be on the ineligibility list and student fees must be paid. Also, please make sure you have completed all of the emergency medical forms on Final Forms.
It looks like another beautiful weekend, so please enjoy!
In service to our Bulldogs.

#EveryBulldogEveryDay
Hi, Bulldog Families.
A couple items regarding attendance policies defined by the state and being eligible to attend school events:
The updated state law defines chronic absenteeism as missing at least 10% of the minimum number of hours required in a school year — regardless of whether those absences are excused or unexcused. In a standard 180-day school year, that equals roughly 18 full days of school.
Please remember that any student that is not at school cannot attend school events the same day they are absent. I observed several students who were not at school last Friday but were in attendance at the football game. In the future, they will not be able to stay at the event if they did not attend school that day.
Go Bulldogs!

Hello, Families.
The weather has been pretty nice lately and next week seems to be similar if not even warmer!
Student drivers need to communicate with me if there are any parking spot issues. We would like for them to arrive safely and on time.
Student drop off and pick up has improved. Thank you to all. Remind your student drivers to make sure the phones are down and not to follow the car in front of them too closely. We have a lot of student drivers that like to back into their parking spots, especially those in the senior lot.
We are approaching homecoming in a few weeks. The administration and secretaries have communicated that we have a lot of students who are not in Final Forms. All forms in Final Forms must be completed to purchase and attend the homecoming dance on September 19th.
Have a great weekend.

Student Shout Out
McKenzie Hammack
Parker Pierson
The Batavia High School Cheerleaders hosted a Youth Cheer Camp on August 15th. McKenzie Hammack and Parker Pierson received a special shout out from the Batavia Youth Cheer Coordinators. They state that, "Parker and McKenzie went above and beyond to make sure that all of our youth cheerleaders felt welcomed, included, special, and seen. Their enthusiasm, patience, and willingness to help made a tremendous impact on the experience our younger cheerleaders had at camp." Nice job, McKenzie and Parker!
Please Take Note of the Following:
We will be running the Flex Schedules A and B on Thursday, September 3rd and Friday, September 4th. These two days allow both End Of Course teachers the time needed to administer the Restart/Readiness and to allow the AP teachers to administer some baseline assessments. Please look through the schedule linked above and note that all periods will be double blocked.
