Black History Month, Spirit Day & PTA Fundraiser
Dear Fairfax Families,
As we conclude Black History Month, we are excited to announce the winners of the Black History Bulletin Board Contest this week! Thank you to all the students and staff who participated and helped showcase such meaningful displays.
Spirit Day – Bring Your Favorite Stuffed Animal!
This Friday, February 28, Student Council is hosting Spirit Day: Bring Your Favorite Stuffed Animal to School! Students may bring their favorite plushie, but it must not be a distraction to their learning or their classmates. Please send the stuffed animal in a protective bag.
Outdoor Recess Reminder
As the weather begins to warm up, please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. We will go outside whenever possible!
PTA Fundraiser – Dewey’s Pizza Night!
Fairfax PTA invites all families to Dewey’s Pizza on Monday, March 3rd, from 4:00 – 9:00 PM to help raise funds for the 4th-grade trip to Columbus this spring! Families can dine in or order carryout, but be sure to mention "Fairfax PTA" when ordering so that 20% of sales go toward our cause. The 4th-grade trip to visit the state capital is a special Fairfax tradition, and your support will help make it a great experience for our students.
Support Student Council
Please join the members of the Fairfax Student Council with their SERVICE PROJECT to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland (RMHC) by collecting tabs from soda pop, soup, pet food, and other canned goods. The Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland provides support and assistance to families who have children who are ill or injured and are receiving medical treatment. The tabs will be given to the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland who will then work with a local recycler to turn those tabs into money. The money from the recycled pull tabs goes into the RMHC Family Fund, which gives families staying at the Ronald McDonald House special moments of normalcy and joy – like birthday gifts, trips to the hair salon, and anniversary dinners.
Attendance Matters
Every day counts! Attending school regularly helps students build strong habits and stay engaged in their learning. Please ensure your child is present and on time unless they are ill. Let’s work together to give them the best chance to succeed.
Thank you for your continued support of our school community!
Warm regards,
Dr. Walker
