Cool Things Happening
Celebrating our Incredible Teachers
This week, we showed our heartfelt appreciation for our amazing teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week! Staff were treated to a variety of special surprises, including a bagel breakfast, a delicious Taco Tuesday lunch, and pizza generously donated by our PTO. Throughout the week, mailbox surprises added an extra touch of joy, and each teacher received a thoughtful gift from the district. Thank you to our dedicated educators for all you do, our school is better because of you!
AP Research
This past week, AP Research students completed their Presentations and Oral Defense to a Faculty Panel. These presentations represented the culmination of the AP Capstone program and represent 25% of their overall AP score for the course.
After completing their graduate school-level research projects and papers, the 24-star scholars presented the results of their analyses for approximately 15 minutes. The presentations included their Literature Reviews, Question & Hypothesis, Methodology, Study Design, Results, as well as Implications and Limitations for future Research. After completing the presentations, they were asked several Oral Defense questions by the Faculty Panel, focusing on the research design and reflection of the process.
Studies included scientific experiments, such as the "Efficacy of African Plants' Medicinal Qualities," or social science queries such as the "Effects of Hegemonic Beauty Standards on Black Girls' Physical Self-Expression."
AP Research students will be attending some excellent colleges next year, and we know that they will continue to expand their research opportunities in the future. Congrats!
Engineering in Action
Our engineering students have been hard at work designing and building movable machines and working circuits! Through hands-on projects, they explored the fundamentals of mechanics and electronics, applying their creativity and problem-solving skills to bring their designs to life. From spinning motors to light-up systems, these future engineers are gaining valuable experience and having a blast along the way!
-Thank you, Mr. Syed!

Celebrando a Nuestros Increíbles Maestros
¡Felicidades!
