On Friday 12th May, Year 10 students went on a Technology trip to York Cocoa House. They had a fantastic day exploring the factory and learning all about the chocolate making process, from the journey of a Cocoa Bean, to the science of chocolate making and the art of a Chocolatier. Pupils even had the opportunity to craft their own goodies in a hands-on workshop.

We are extremely proud of our staff for taking part in the Manchester 10K run on Sunday 21st May, alongside colleagues from across the Pinnacle Learning Trust, in support of the Oldham Foodbank. As a Trust we have raised over £3600! We are still taking donations.

It was mental health awareness week last week and this year's theme is Anxiety.

At Hathershaw College we understand the pressure that students are under, and anxiety that comes with exams alone. We're pleased to have dedicated staff available to support our pupils with any worries or anxious feelings that they may have.

This week, Year 10 have been out of the classrooms and in their placements gaining valuable work experience! Students have been enjoying themselves and making the most of the opportunity.

Through Community, Creativity and Careers, we provide our students with experiences that will help them maximise their time at school and prepare for life beyond the school gates.
