Student National Recognition
Congratulations to our own Lucy Diaz-Drake and Simone Roberts, who are two of 62,000 students from across the country to earn academic honors from the College Board’s National Recognition Programs! These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them stand out during the admissions process.
Lucy earned the National Hispanic Recognition Award (NHRA) while Simone earned the “National African American Recognition Award (NAARA).
Colleges and scholarship programs use these honors to identify students from underrepresented groups through College Board’s Student Search Service. We are proud of Lucy and Simone’s much deserved recognition. They earned this recognition by excelling on their PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, or Advanced Placement (AP) Exams and in their classrooms.
Students who may be eligible have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and are African American or Black, Hispanic American or Latinx, Indigenous, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town. Eligible students are invited to apply during their sophomore or junior year, and are awarded at the beginning of the next school year.
Northridge High is excited to congratulate both Lucy and Simone on their academic accomplishments. We are proud of their efforts and proud that they are a Jag!
Picture Day Has Been Rescheduled - See Below
9th and 10th Grade Screeners
Northridge High School will have a testing orientation next Thursday, September 1 to provide our teachers the process that we will use. You can find more information on Imagine MyPath at the following location below.
Pep Rally
We will Black n' Blue and Pounce the Pats on this day. We are excited to see our student body support our football team, cheerleading squad and our band members. They work hard and this is a great way to support them and celebrate their hard work.
There will be class prizes for the top three 2nd block classrooms for the best spirit awards. Best spirit awards will be rated as the best "signage" (think ESPN GameDay), wearing black and blue and standing to support your fellow students.
We will conclude the pep rally with the singing of the alma mater. Get your Black n' Blue on to Pounce the Pats and get ready for the 1st pep rally of the year. Go Jags!
