Hound Dog Huddle
January 16, 2026
Principal's Message:
Happy Friday Hilton Families!
Hilton Musical Theatre Performances – Next Week:
Join us for the magic of Hillton Musical Theatre as nearly 100 talented students in grades 2–4 take the stage next week at the BCPA! Performances will be held Friday at 7:00 PM and Saturday at 1:00 PM, and best of all—the show is free to attend.
This is a wonderful opportunity for families to support our student performers, cheer on classmates, and for younger students to get a glimpse of what musical theatre at Hilton is all about. Whether you’re a returning fan or a first-time audience member, it’s sure to be an incredible event showcasing the talent, hard work, and joy of our students. We hope to see you there!
Huddles:
Our next Huddle is this Tuesday, January 20th from 3:10-3:45pm. Please have your child wear their grade level shirt for Tuesday.
We will be focusing on the D.O.G.S. value of Optimism. For this Huddle, students will be reflecting on areas they have already worked hard to develop a new skill, and will set their sights on a new goal for the new year. They will bring home their "Three Stars and a Wish" goal setting sheet so they can share it with you and reference it throughout the year.
Lockdown Drill At Hilton Next Week:
Next week, we will have our second lockdown drill at Hilton. Our staff works closely with Officer Eccles (School Resource Officer at the High School), Deputy Thomson (School Resource Officer at Scranton), and local law enforcement to train and prepare each year on the most effective, multi-tiered supports to put in place to keep our students safe. Teachers will review the lockdown routine with students in age appropriate language so that they know what to do in case of an emergency. That being said, I know that while these drills are necessary, they can also cause some additional worry for students and I wanted you to be aware heading into next week.
Neighborhood Reminders:
As a reminder, while the district has instated that we have no left turn out of the Hilton Elementary School parking lot during drop off and pick up times to alleviate more back ups, we do ask that you try not to cut through the neighboring subdivisions on your way out. We are getting reports of people speeding through these areas after leaving our parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation in this.
Thank you for your continued support, and have a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Erin Belanger
Hilton Elementary Principal

Message From Dr. Outlaw:
News From Our District Nurse
Parents, it is that time of year again where it is important to be checking your students head for head lice. While they are not harmful they most certainly are a nuisance and can be difficult to get rid of. Please notify your school if your child has a case of head lice so we can take measures to hopefully stop them from spreading. Should you need any more information here is a link for your reference:https://www.cdc.gov/lice/about/head-lice.html
We sincerely appreciate your help and understanding in this matter!
STEAM Lab Needs Creation Station Supplies!
We are looking for items that students can repurpose for creative projects, such as:
Clean containers and lids
Flattened cereal or cracker boxes
Paper towel or toilet paper tubes
Buttons and craft supplies
Any other materials you no longer need that can be reused in projects
Items can be dropped off at the front office, or your child can bring them directly to Mrs. Lewicki.
Thank you so much for helping us keep the Creation Station stocked and inspiring student creativity!

Contact: (810) 299-4130This Valentine’s Day… Whether you’re a fan of Broadway, classical, or even rock, this program of Andrew Lloyd Webber showstoppers and more has something for everyone. Terry Barber and Shelley Keelor breathe new life into hits from many of Broadway's most beloved shows, reacquainting you with characters from CATS, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Aspects of Love, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Les Miserables, Chicago, Hamilton, The Phantom of the Opera, and more!
Literally "setting the stage" for this production is a replica backdrop of the Paris Opera House (Palais Garnier) where the real Phantom of the Opera haunted over 100 years ago causing a chandelier to crash into the audience killing a woman and injuring several others. We will not be recreating that piece of history for you! Don't miss this epic performance or you may be haunted by your disappointment!
BCPA Tech Club Fundraiser
Doors to the lobby open at 6:30pm for this show. Come support concession sales that will serve as a fundraiser that supports training and scholarship opportunities for the BCPA's student theater Tech Club.
Behind every great show at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts is a team making the magic happen! The BCPA Student Tech Club is where students learn the ins and outs of stagecraft, from mastering the light board and perfectly balancing sound to managing backstage cues.
