LAMBERT
November 2024 Edition

Dear Longhorn Families,
As we welcome November and the season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to share how thankful I am for our Lambert community—especially your remarkable students. Each day, they remind us why this work matters through their compassion, creativity, and drive to make a difference.
This time of year invites reflection, and I am continually grateful for the partnership we share between home and school. Your support, encouragement, and collaboration are what make Lambert such an extraordinary place to lead, serve, and grow.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for walking alongside us in our mission to help every Longhorn reach their fullest potential. May this month bring you moments of connection, joy, and rest as we continue to lead, live, and love well.
With gratitude,
Amanda Thrower
Principal
P.S. Tomorrow is Election Day, and we encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote. Please take time to be informed about the ESPLOST item on the ballot. If approved, ESPLOST 7 would include an addition to Lambert High School designed to help accommodate growth and reduce the likelihood of future redistricting.

We are also honored to celebrate the following Longhorns on our LHS Staff who have bravely served:

OUT OF DISTRICT INFORMATION
If you are considering applying for an Out of District (OOD) application for your Rising 9th grader to attend high school at a location other than the one you are districted for, please be sure to thoroughly read the rules and guidelines outlined on the FCS website HERE.
OOD Requests will be marked ineligible if you request a pathway offered at your districted school. For instance, the Healthcare Cluster is now offered at all high schools, so a request to out-of-district from South Forsyth High School to Lambert High School for the Healthcare Pathway is an ineligible request. For a list of CTAE Pathways Availability at each school, please click HERE.
Finally, if you have or plan to submit an OOD Request for the Food and Nutrition or Finance Pathway at Lambert High School, due to limited availability/seats, Lambert administration will be conducting a lottery after 4:00 P.M. on November 14. Thus, do not expect word of your approval or denial until then, and be sure to submit your request by November 14 to be a part of the lottery. A detailed chart of programs and OOD eligibility by school can be found HERE.
Parents/guardians and students are encouraged to:
Reference the High School Course Digest to help guide pathway and program decisions.
Attend FCS Pathway Motive8 Night (see flyer below).
Join us for Lambert’s Programs and Pathway Night on November 4th & 6th.
Important Reminders:
Attending a school other than the assigned “home” school may result in loss of eligibility under Georgia High School Association (GHSA) rules. Parents of students who participate in athletics should consult with the County Athletic Director before applying for an OOD transfer. GHSA rules on transferring can be found on pages 19–23 of the GHSA Constitution.
No OOD requests/transfers will be permitted for rising Juniors or Seniors.
Students approved for an OOD transfer for a CTAE pathway or specialty CTAE program are expected to remain in that program through completion. Forsyth County Schools reserves the right to revoke OOD status if the student discontinues enrollment in the program or pathway.
MIDTERMS - PLAN ACCORDINGLY
We highly encourage our families NOT to plan trips on midterm exam dates. Midterms cannot be administered early, and making them up after the long break does not set students up for optimal success. Thank you in advance for planning accordingly.
