This Week's Attendance Percentage: 91.17% 🔽
A Note from Dr. Paceley
Winter weather gave us an unexpected pause, with today being a snow day and tomorrow looking the same. While we’ve enjoyed the brief break, we’re ready to come back with renewed energy and focus.
When students return, it’s time to dig our heels in. The second and final round of Mock STAAR testing will take place during the first two weeks of March, and this is a critical time for students to be present, engaged, and giving their best effort each day.
Attendance matters. Consistency matters. And effort matters. When students come to school every day ready to learn, it truly makes a difference.
Thank you for partnering with us to encourage your student to be here, on time, and ready to finish strong. Together, we’ve got this!
Centex Honor Band Awards
We are so proud of our Meridian High School band students who placed at the Centex Band Concert! Your hard work, dedication, and countless hours of practice truly paid off, and you represented our school and community with excellence.
This accomplishment reflects not only your musical talent, but also your discipline, teamwork, and commitment to doing things the right way. Bravo to our students and a big thank-you to our band directors for their leadership and support.
Way to make Meridian proud—keep shining and keep making beautiful music! 💛🖤
💛 Capturing Kids’ Hearts Corner 💛
January's CKH Traits — Self-Discipline & Perseverance
Snow days give us a little extra time together, and they’re a great opportunity to connect with our kids in meaningful ways. One simple Capturing Kids’ Hearts practice you can try at home is a “Good Things” conversation.
Take a few minutes and ask:
-
What’s one good thing that happened this week?
-
What’s something you’re proud of yourself for?
-
What’s one thing you’re looking forward to when we’re back at school?
Listening without fixing or correcting goes a long way in helping students feel heard, valued, and supported. These small moments of connection build confidence and trust—both at home and at school.
Thank you for partnering with us as we support our students’ hearts and minds, even on snow days.

🖤 MHS Hive Heart Volunteers 🖤
Volunteer Opportunities
None at this time.
A fantastic idea from one of our parents: Meridian High is looking to launch a volunteer program—much like classroom moms but for our whole school! We’d love for parents or family members to help greet students, decorate hallways, make positive phone calls home, and support other school activities. This is a wonderful way to build connections and celebrate our students. Interested in joining the volunteer team or learning more? Let us know by filling out the form.
We will send out a monthly sign up sheet requesting volunteers for events happening at the school. Sign up for one or all. Anyone is welcome! Volunteer forms must be signed in order to participate during school hours.
