🐣 IT'S SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE 🐥 🐣 IT'S SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE 🐥

As with all good things, our 5-week STEAM experience in the JC Library is coming to an end. In deep gratitude to our supportive parent community and our PTA who generously funded this opportunity, we watched the entire egg-hatching process from placing the eggs in the incubator right out of the egg carton, to ensuring there's enough water that turns into warm vapor, to watching chicks break their shells with their beaks to fully hatching and turning into walking, eating, drinking, chirping chicks!

We will bid adieu to our chicks on Tuesday, March 26th. Until next year...

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR SOCIAL WORKERS IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR SOCIAL WORKERS

As spring weather is near (hopefully), it's time to swap out some of those winter clothes.

If your family could use some help putting together a wardrobe for those constantly growing kiddos, there is an amazing resource in Stamford!

Clothes To Kids provides a personal shopping experience for families.

Each eligible child in grades K-12 can shop for two free wardrobes a year in the CTKF Store. (One for warm weather, and one for cool.)

Personal shoppers work with the family to help them find complete wardrobes for each child. Best of all, kids get to choose what they like best!

Visit the Shop With Us page to learn more about how the program works.

The CTKF Wardrobe is a week’s worth of school clothing and includes the following:

  • 5 tops
  • 4 bottoms (pants, shorts, or skirts)
  • 1 dress (optional)
  • 1 coat or jacket
  • 5 pieces of new underwear
  • 2 new sports bras
  • 5 pairs of new socks
  • 1 pair of footwear
  • Extra items may also be available including: backpacks, accessories, pajamas, gloves, hats, new bathing suits

Reach out to our school social workers, Danielle Polizzi or Meredith Odinak if you need help connecting to Clothes to Kids or any other community resources.

Solar Eclipse on April 8th Solar Eclipse on April 8th

Excitement is in the air! On April 8th a total solar eclipse will take place in North America between 2:25 PM and 4:00 PM with the actual total eclipse happening at around 3:30 PM. This is a unique and exciting event when the moon blocks the Sun perfectly, and only a dim outer ring of the sun appears to be visible. There won't be another U.S. eclipse spanning coast to coast until 2045.

Many suggest that there could be danger in looking directly at the sun without appropriate eyewear. Though it is expected to be minimal in the Greenwich area, below is a link for more information about the eclipse as well as a suggested link for safety glasses should you wish to purchase them for your child.
